Ford 7.8L Diesel

Can any of you tell me the oil capacity of these Brazillian Ford diesel's? My dad needs to change the oil in his shop truck, but doenst know how much he needs. I tried to do a keyword search on Yahoo, but nothing was useful. Thanks!!

Depending on the pan and application I've seen between 16 and 30 quarts. Drain it, see how much comes out.



If it's in like a F750 or F800 probably start with 15 or so & check the stick... ... add as necessary.

Off the top of my head I am thinking 22- 24Q and that will depend if you have the long filters or the short ones.

Thanks guys, he was changing it at 5 am this morning, with no auto parts stores open of course, so he was just wanting to make sure he had enough oil to do the change.
