Another excellent repower candidate!

Tach for my conversion?

Yes I read Marty's thread- thanks for all the scoop. Anyone have any more . 02?

I got a swinging deal on a low mile(less than 21k) class C 98 ford rv with V10. The RV is clean and perfect sized for my needs (towing 8500lb 20' enclosed race trailer 20k+ a yr) just a thirsty slug with the V10.

I've done plenty of jeep engine swaps and built 3 tube chassis race cars (Crawlers) While I can marry two harnesses as I've done with previous EFI conversions, I've got a buddy who can do it in his sleep.

Unlike Marty, I've got a 2x4 with the twin traction beam. Front axle weight rating is similar to my Dodge, will put it on the scales to see how much room is there etc. Rear axle is a Dana 80 with discs and 4. 63's which will likely get tossed for 4. 10's or even 3. 54's depending on final ratio in the auto transmission. Considering a gen 3 motor for quietness and a better transmission. Would love to find an allison 6 speed from a wrecked mid duty truck - is their a bolt up transmission? I've always run manual trannies in the truck but I think auto would be better resale in the rv. I don't plan for more than 700 ft lbs. Whole rig weighs just under 20k going down the road and the Rv is rated for that now. Tow's great with my equalizer brand hitch- cruises nice at 75, hit 80 and 85 a few times and felt good.

I can't justify the a 30+ foot diesel pusher, most are considerably heavier so mileage and performance is a wash.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like a cool project :) it would be nice to have some conections to a recking yard. The trany thats in it now could be upgraded it may be a HD unit. Good luck :D
