ok the decision has been made

so after a lot of long hard thought, i think i am going to have to take the plunge and go with the ford. i do truely dearly love my dodge diesel and will miss it:{, but for the next 4 years or so it just will not be practical for me to have. so my truck is up for sale. anyone who is interested in it, pm me.



so there now is a 97 12v with a 143k miles on it for sale. this is a rather sad day for me.

There you go! I hope you enjoy your new pickup, when your plan all comes together. Really, I can't say too much bad about my wife's F-150, other than it's not my CTD and that's because I'm biased. She likes it and that's what counts. All told, we have put around 100,000 miles on each of her previous F-150 pickups (4) with minimal trouble. We might upgrade her present one soon to a newer model, since it has 97,000. My CTD is like family and won't be going anywhere.

I think your plan to continue your education is sound and it really does make sense to look ahead to what you can do down the road when you are done. Good luck at school.

My son in law bought a new Eco Boost last summer and loves it. He's a dyed in the wool Ford fanatic however. It is a beautiful truck. He's never had any trouble with his half tons. To me a half ton is basically a station wagon with a truck box. If I was in school and didn't need that pickup box, I'd look for a small SUV made by Toyota, Honda, or maybe a VW diesel. They get good mileage, warm up quickly and have excellent resale. If you still need the pickup, you might compare the resale of a Toyota Tundra.

just thinking about it i already miss the ctd, but there is a small part of me that is excited about the f150, i have had my eye on these newer ones since they came out. just could never leave the diesel. with school though a diesel just is not practical. i am working on an engineering degree, it is a pretty safe bet that i will be making a lot of money when i get out. so it is probably a safe bet to say that come that time i can have a diesel too, and ill be able to fix it up from whatever state i find it in to exactly how i would want it.

a car would be truely be the correct sacrifice, however i simply cannot stand cars, and i still need a truck, just not as big of one. as for the brand, i simply do not like much else besides dodge and ford.

Keep the CTD!

Simply put, you will be sorry you got rid of the CTD#@$%! Just get a used asian car to commute, simple. Drive the beast at least once a week or every other week on a good warm-up trip. My daily driver is a 40 year old Super Beetle, VW bug. She's a new car today. Nice paint, new engine, no problem, easy to maintain, cheap to own. Been driving her over 20-yeara. I continue my love for her today. No, not modern, just simple. I use the Dodge D250 CTD to haul weekly, or when it rains, the Bug stays out of the weather, yeah she looks that nice. Done:-laf Yada, yada, yada.
