Stand alone 47re controller?

fuel system setup?

Hey guys I have completed my conversion and I have not had any major problems (knock on wood) One thing that bugs me is when I fuel up the truck I have to do it super slow or it will click off. When I converted the truck from gas to diesel I just opened up the filler neck with a hole saw. I was thinking of adding a vent to the side of the neck. Would that help?

Thanks

I'm having the same thing happen with my Fordge also. Of couse I also added a dually rear end and bed. I have to place a 6 or 8 inch block under the duals to even get it to take fuel. Just haven't had the time to play with it any further. .

I know on the newer trucks, the filler neck extends down into the tank several inches. The solution is to reach into the tank through the sending unit/fuel pump hole, and cut the filler neck as close to the edge of the tank as possible. This made my truck a whole lot faster to fill up, and it works great with Big Rig nozzles.

The best way to solve that problem is to pull out the inner hose and run an external vent line - they basically have a big outer hose and a smaller inner hose right now, with the vent being the gap between the inner and outer hoses. If you pull it out, and run an external vent, you then have a way bigger fill hose, reducing foaming and letting you at least run up 1 or 2 clicks from what you have now. There's that other site that deals with Fords that talks about "Filler Neck Mods" - you might go over there and do a search.

Thanks for the replys. If you pull out the smaller hose, where do you have to run the vent from?

What is "that other site"?

Thanks

Check to make sure your fill tube does not have the plastic check ball assembly in the lower end of it. This check ball is only installed on the gas fill tubes as my 7. 3 diesel powered E250 does not have the check ball. This past summer I swapped a cube van diesel fuel tank into my cummins powered E250 4x4 van and after removing the check ball I could finally get the last quarter of the tank full of fuel. From what I could determine the plastic check ball floats on the diesel fuel foam when you are filling the tank and this makes the nozzle shut off before the tank is actually full.
