1. chip, intake, exhaust, injectors, intercooler

2. cam position sensor

As you can tell I own a dodge so parts are a dime a dozen. I dont even know where to find things for a ford psd. no one sales stuff for a 96!!

What I ment to say was my father has replaced the cam sensor, crank sensor, oil sensor. Trips the check engine light and dies driving down the road then when i completely stops the check light goes out.

For the Ford parts on the 96, order 6637 filter from Napa. (BHAF for the Ford) And a 4" 45 degree piece of exhaust pipe, a couple of clamps and your BHAF is done. Get a 3" DP, to get rid of the stock crushed Ford piece of junk. Get rid of the cat if it has one and the muffler, run 4" pipe to the back of the truck and call it good. Visit www.dp-tuner.com to get a chip for it, they are hands down the best PSD tuner out there. Worry about the intercooler after you see how your EGTs turn out. Want more power, call Beans Diesel Performance and get a set of Stage 1 injectors. The auto trans wont be liking this, so visit www.blackclouddieselperformance.com and get a Sonnax shift kit for 50 bucks. Now you have firmer shifts, couple this with the biggest trans cooler you can find, and you will have a truck that shifts alot better, runs alot faster and you wont have broken the bank doing.

If you are still looking for a Cam position sensor (CPS) go to the International dealer and get one there, the prices are always cheaper by a good amount then through the Ford dealer. If you need a part number, I can get you one.

Dang, does EVERYONE know Bean?

I just figured he was a local shop, but I'm starting to hear about him everywhere.

Dunbar did a dyno event up at Bean's place. Bean was nice enough to let our Dodge group participate with them. I gotta say, Bean, his crew, the injector builders, the whole lot of them are A-1 guys. I really enjoyed hanging out with them for the day.

So yeah, I'd put my recommendation behind him too. Give him a call.

Not the transmission people, Advanced Turbo Systems, I think they're in Utah. They designed the turbo system for Ford in the early 90's when they put a turbo on the indirect injection 7. 3 before the Powerstroke came out. Many options from compressor housings to intercoolers and intake systems. DW

If your tach is moving while turning over the cam position sensor is working. Check the plugs and wireing harness going under the valve covers.

#1 I wouldn't go to crazy on power with the auto unless you beef it up.

#2 I had a 97 that would stall after warming up. It would throw no codes. It ended up being the transfer pump up under the turbo. If it is the cam position sensor (common problem) usually the tach quits working and it will log a code... Doug
