Which Ride-Rite Airbags?

Should of had a Cummins...

This month Diesel Power magazine is show placing a new 2008 Ford 450 Quad Cab dually. It has 19. 5s and new Powerstroke. Great looking truck. Dodge needs to get on the ball. Ford website has more info.

Ford does have a nice rig in the SuperDuty Series that no one seems to try and match.

But it's still up in the air if they have a reliable diesel with the 6. 4. If it's reliable, the tight engine bay packaging isn't as much of an issue.

Those crazy Blue Oval onlys will buy them no matter.

Most of the guys on the Ford site seem to think the 6. 4 is a totally new engine. It is just a bore and stroke on the 6. 0 with new emissions hardware on it. To me Ford doesn't appear to know enough about emissions equipment to make a reliable engine. Look at the ongoing saga of the 6. 0.

My truck has almost 116,000 miles and has only required a lift pump and 1 license plate bulb. And everything on it is still in very good shape. Ball joints, steering, brakes, driveline, electrical, cooling all in great shape. And contrary to the opinions of the uninformed Ford and Chevy guys, there are No rattles in it either.

Ford Fseries is a great truck i've had 2 a 1997 7. 3 and 1999 7. 3, bullet proof trucks both of them! (we still have a 2002,2005,and a 95 0n the ranch)

I am a farmer and rancher and we down right TREAT & BEATED those like trucks like slaves (We had to) and when i sold them the 97 had 189,000 HARD miles on it and the only thing we replaced was tires, oil (about 6,000 to 7,000 miles inbetween) filters, belts and 1 set of injectors and glow plugs HANDS DOWN THE BEST TRUCK I EVER OWNED.

the 99 had 146,000 but it wasnt beat up as bad, but same thing minus

the injectors.

You guy's are right! and most DieHard Ford guys will agree who ever is designing the new Power Stroke 6. 0L and above don't have their ducks in a row. and that's sad Fords body frame and drivetrain in my opinion is the top of the line. (considering i've owned trucks made by all three manufactures)

I own an F550 with the 7. 3L it now has close to 375K miles, its on its second engine and I don't know what we've spent in repairs... when we replaced the engine we put in one of the turn key engines from Jasper... . It has a pump, injectors, turbo, water pump etc... . and a 3 year unlimited mileage warranty... . and they have paid and paid and paid... .

BTW - the truck, transmission, drivetrain are in great shape and will run another 250K at least... but I'm worried about the engine again... only 18 months left on the warranty... .

I saw pre production information on the 4500 and 5500 six months ago and was told after the first of the year for delivery in the 1st quarter... . I was on a list of those who own Fords that might want to switch at DC..... I emailed my dealer a question last week """""" HOW SOON CAN I ORDER"""" I've bought 5 vehicles from this guy... we are on a first name basis... when I walk in the door... . all I got back was... I don't know yet but your my first call when I find out...

Whew, from the heading of this thread, I thought Ford had bought Cummings again!

Buddy at work has a '04 Blue oval, with 95,xxx miles on it. It is ready for its third engine. Blue Oval wants $2500 up front to fix it, again... ... .

Dodge is starting to look better & better for him all the time!

I can't complain about my 06. No problems so far @ 25k miles and I work it like I do my Dodges. But here is a little secret that none of the dealers will tell you, ALL OF THESE TRUCKS ARE GARBAGE. They all rattle, they all fall apart with time, they all have their issues. Planned Obsolescence - it is the only way they continue to sell.

The new F550 I drive for work is ok, and Ive been raised a diehard IH fan so its hard to complain about the engine. BUT..... It shure would be nice to have the bottom end of the power band my old ram had. And maybe pass a fuel station once in a while.

I do like the aftercooler lube system on the 6. 0, though, except the right boot leaks a little oil. ;) I'll have the ford guy check that out the next time Im down that way... .

February Trailer Life mag

Ford's F450 is reviewed there. What a BRUTE!! But still is aint a Dodge so I wont have one. But Dodge DOES need to rethink what they are building. If Ford thinks there is a market, Dodge should too. Dodge needs a 450/4500 series truck, IMHO. Maybe they'll upgrade the new 3500 chassis truck to a 4500 series.

Thank you Mr. Drake

My whole reason for starting the thread was not to push the purchase of Ferds but to draw attention that Dodge ain't gettin' it..... We need a 4500.

Dodge has missed the boat on this one. Ford has been the only 450/550 available for years. If you wanted a 450/550 Chassis with after market bed they really were your only option. If Dodge gets to it finally, my next truck will be a Quad-Cab Dodge 5500 with 10 foot flat bed. I am just waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting...
