Ok so I'm at a party on Sunday, and there are Two PSD w/ Owners there... . One asks me how I like my truck, I respond by telling the truth... I LOVE IT!..... The other owner chimes in, yeah at least it's a diesel, even if it's a junior one... ... . ROFLMAO...

I looked at him, now a bunch of people are around and ask him what makes mine a Junior diesel? Is it because I have more HP, or More Torque then you do? Oh I know it must be because I get better Gas Mileage..... I then said it's a good thing you got the 2 extra cylinders ... ... Oh on second thought maybe that's what holding the truck back... ... He responded by saying (not nearly as cocky as he started the conversation) well I just use mine for transportation I'm just happy it starts... . I said: If I owned a Ford I would be too... . and walked away... . For some reason he didn't talk to me the rest of the day.

Darren - Junior diesel my A$$

Don'tcha LOVE it?

I get the same crap about my 440 racing sleds (that's a snowmobile to you southern folks) from the dorks with extra cylinders, double the cc's and enough beer in them that they should be driven home. And then they want to race in the dark. I invite them out to the next race but they never seem to make it!

Rotton, you should have told him to put his money where his mouth is, and blew his doors off.

He was almost shrinking with every word... ..... It was almost sad, I really burst his bubble .....

I was at a party a few months ago and noticed two guys talking about this new Ford gasser that one of them just bought. It was one of those Super Crew 4 X4s. It looked pretty decent. I asked which one owned the truck and one of the guys spoke up... just got it!

He said he really liked it and that it could take him anywhere he wanted to go. He asked what I drove and I told him only the best truck on the road a Dodge Cummins. His reply was a smarta$$ --- "I'm Sorry!" Without hesitation I told him not to be sorry and to just call me anytime and I would pull him anywhere he wanted to go!

Needless to say he had nothing more to say about his truck or mine!

I was at a family reunion last saturday and my uncle (moms yougest brother) has a 97 Power Stroke. When I pulled up he was just getting there also. I'm sitting there idling and he come over and says I guess that little motor needs to cool off after working so hard. I just tell him I'm cooling off the turbo.

Later that day my dad, uncle, and I go for a ride in my truck. As we leave the park I had to merge in traffic and got on it alittle. His comment man this thing does take off good but can how fast can it go. I get on the freeeway and put the hammer down 3rd, 4th, and 5th up to 100 MPH. His after I come back down to 65mph. He says holy **** I haven't accelerated that fast since High School in my 409 chevy.

There are alot of others that take small diesels for granted.

Silence is golden...

A buddy of mine just bought a 2001 F250 Powerjoke. We went out for a visit, and I told him I'd never had driven a powerstroke before, could I drive his? He threw me the keys and we were off. After coming back to his place, I threw him my keys and told him to take mine for a quick spin... I didnt say a word... He ran it through the gears with the smoke pedal mashed. All he said was "Dang!!!" I just sat there and smirked... . Glad I didnt just spend $36K on a slow truck... He didnt want to talk about trucks the rest of the night...

A buddy of mine decided he wanted to have a pulloff. My 2001 Cummins vs. his 2001 PowerSmoke (both 6 speeds). We both hitched onto horse trailers and loaded them with bricks until both trucks weighed 11,000 total (we have truck scales around here). We got on a lonely stretch of road, lined up, and took off. After stalling, he finally got it rolling but by then I was way ahead. I'll never forget the disgusted look on his face when we finished :D.

I offered to rematch and let him drive my truck, but he just turned and walked away. Poor guy, got his little heart shattered:p . Oh, well  .

Yeah, that's the big thing I noticed when I took a buddy's PS out for a spin. I'm so used to the massive low end torque, I kept stalling his truck! I usually just let the clutch out and go, doesn't matter if I've got a trailer, going up a steep hill, whatever, the Cummins just goes:D

new found respect for powerstroke owners

i have a new found respect for powerstroke owners , i put on an HX40 on my ram last nite and 40 miles later it gave up the ghost , in a gas station parking lot after midnite the only tool i don't have and desperately need is a 15mm open end wrench .

a guy towing a TT with his family pulls in looking for a fuel stop , this staion didn't have #2 . i tell him where he'll find the cheapest fuel around and ask if he has tools . he didn't have persay a 15mm but he had a wrench that did the deed and got me back on the road .

Well guys:

Some of my friends have power strokes, but I don't rag 'em. Don't need to. We take turns driving each other's rigs. I hate I did it, but I kept stalling out the 6spd Ford. Dawg gone reverse is up to the left, so I kept sticking it in 3rd by accident and killing it. He drove mine and he was real impressed.

Had a PSD coming up from behind slowed to check my rig, pulled up a little more, checked a little more, and passed me while both him and his wife were looking back. I just smiled big and waved. :D

gotta say the sound of a Cummins is much more cuel too.

Couple summers back at a neighborhood BBQ one of my F@#d owning neighbors spent the whole night talking my truck down. I just smiled, and nodded, and laughed it off. He went on that way for hours and I did my best Ghandi impression.

Finally I just walked over to my truck opened the door and pulled out my big heavy tow chain. Went to the back of my truck and slipped the ring over my hitch. He says "what you need a tow" I said "Nope it's just time to settle this, back up your truck, hook it up, and let's get it on!"

Nothing doing. He just started making excuses about this and that not being right. Misalignment between Jupiter, and Mars, clutch not adjusted right, needs oil change, blah blah blah

It's this simple, my truck may not be as tough/strong/powerful as his, but I'm willing to try and prove that it is, and then some.

It sounds like it was a good weekend. Anyway, I simply keep telling my PSD owning friends: 'Don't despair - DC still makes the 3500 w/ a CTD and the local Chrysler dealer will take a F*!D PSD on a trade-in'.

'01 3500 ETH w/ 6spd and 3:54's.

My neighbor has a 97 F-350. He would really like a Dodge, but needs the extra doors. He added propane injection for the times "you need the extra go". He is really waiting for the concept Power Wagon to hit the showroom. Then it will be bye bye Ford.

My local Dodge dealership is also a Ford place. Same mechanic is trained for Cummins & Power Stroke. He told me one of the first things they learned in Cummins school is that the Dodge pickup is the lowest power application of the B series engine. He also heard that Dodge is hinting a Mercedes diesel is just around the corner as another power option.

Oh the possibilities

John
