ford owning cummins?

a die hard ford guy at work said ford owns 52% of cummins. is this true? i thought i read somewhere back awhile that ford had 10% stock of cummins. i would really like to put him in his place and say if ford owns cummins or a part of, why don't they put them in fords? he says dodge wouldn't be anything if they didn't have the cummins motor.

so if you fellas can settle the score for me and i can finally shut this guy up about the hole ford/cummins deal.

If that was true, why does he have that P. O. C. motor in his Ford instead of a real engine- a CTD?? This rumor is NOT true, as Doughboy21kd showed.

Nick05, I did a little deeper research on this question a while ago. As I remember, in1994 FORD bought 10% share of CUMMINS. In 1997 CUmmins bought back that 10%. Ford now has no ownership of CUMMINS. Now you have some info instead of just a yes or no argument.

thanks a bunch fellas. now i'll see what kind of reaction he gives me now. he's only got a gasser f150 and his old man has the powerjoke. he told me stories changing glow plugs on his brother truck. he kinda laughed at me when i said cummins didn't use glow plugs. he asked how does it run? i didn't bother explaining other than it has a grid heater.

No, Ford does own Cummings though. :-laf
