hey folks,
i just did a forum search on the topic of using ford steel rims on the 1st gen. dodge. i got mixed results and not the answers i was looking for.
here's the deal. i need new rims. although they are very sexy, i don't want to pay the coin for aftermarket rims. i was at the local bone yard today and i saw a set of the "accuride" 16x7 (i measured them) steel rims from a mid 90's ford 3/4 ton. i saw the same rims in 16x6, too. apparently, the "accuride" and "firestone" ford rims are stronger than our stock rims and - in this case - are 1" wider; both bonuses in my opinion.
if anyone out there has actual experience running these rims on a 1st gen. , my questions to you are:
1) do they fit?
2) do i need different lug nuts?
3) what's the difference between "lug centered/centric" and "hub centered/centric" wheels, and is this an issue in this case?
cheers, and thanks in advance!
