Ford stops calandar for th Ford Mustang Club due to Copyright of images of YOUR CAR!

Yep, according to Ford, you take of picture of your Mustang or your Fsomething50 truck, you do NOT own the rights to that photo, even if you are in it!



Wow, do this to a Mustang forum club, who do nothing but freely, shamelessly, and proactively promote your brand, and you shoot them in the foot. For crying out loud it's free advertising, I'd love to have the Jason Fan club and others sell my products for me!

I don't think legally they have the right to do this. Any lawyers in the house? I mean, it's their property, and I can think of numerous things on TV and in photo's that were never challenged.

UPDATE: The issue has been resolved. Ford Car Communication's Whitney Drake tells us "Mustang (and other car owners) can take pictures of their cars and make calendars and sell them to whomever they like. They can't however use Ford logos in the calendar. " She further clarifies, "The club (Black Mustang Club) and cafe press (or another printer) now has permission to print the calendar. Apparently, CafePress misunderstood the intent of an earlier communication from Ford regarding the use of trademarks on other products they sold when it told Black Mustang Club it would not print its calendars.

If you read the whole article, it states it was the printer who refused to make the calender. This was based on previous dealings with Ford. Ford cleared up the misunderstanding by saying no trademarked logos could be used. Like the blue oval.
