Has this been posted - New (small) Cummins V-8

Build enough JUNK and it catches up with you! Some day, they will LEARN!

Inline 6 is where it is at!

My mother can't wait for the BMW diesels (3. 0L inline 6) to arrive stateside. She has been told several times "they are coming when clean diesel comes". Supposed to be in '08.

well thier 6. 4 liter won't be much better cause it's just got a larger bore, from what iv'e heard. LOL LOL... ..... go powerchokes... ... ...

Its not even out yet...

you should atleast give it a chance. The common rail injection should yield good results.

Ford announced a 20% reduction in ALL vehicles. The Superduty's were part of this. They figure why give them away like they were doing as well as GM and Dodge... . the truck I bought with a window of 48. 6K for 36. 5K. The Superduty is a lame duck with a new body style and engine coming shortly. Retooling is required. The 6. 4 is nothing like the 6. 0. The block is the only shared component. 375,000 6. 0's are built a year with 335K of those going to Ford. Cummins builds 175,000 ISB's which includes the 4cylinder and all stationary models. Simply info not aggression... . I drive the Cummins.

There is a dealership here in the Ft Worth/Dallas area offering 0% for up to 72 months for everyone, good credit or bad, everyone gets it.

I wonder who cost who the job loss. I realize that Ford has decided to cut production across their product line but if Ford is reducing Super Duty truck production as well, and I think they are, one could possibly make the argument that Navistar cost Ford hundreds of jobs.

Whether a loyal Ford owner or not I think any honest person would have to acknowledge that the 6. 0 engine has been extremely troublesome and has caused some to reconsider their decision to buy a Ford.

I'm just surprised that they don't use Cummins since they own them.

Would you believe that I heard that stupid line again at the gym, the other day, from a FORD salesman.

He was shocked when I called him on it. Oo.

check out thedieselstop.com in their new 6. 4 PSD forum. Somthin' wrong with those folks as they are alread fightin' and flamin' about the 6. 0 and 6. 4 and "will it be the same". Ford folks are odd. They don't get along with anybody... ... . JIM

I realize there are a lot of Ford and GM owners that are that way, but there are Dodge owners the same way. I have had quite a few gatherings with all three of the brand owners and everyone had a good time and got along. So they are not bad people, no different from you and I. Everyone has their own opinion and you are always welcome to yours. This is mine and the main difference I have seen is the GM croud seems to be the ones that resemble your opinion the most :D

Yep... . Ford has 0% for 72 months on everything but the GT and F650/750's. It does not get any better than that. My 4 siblings and I just hooked up our widowed Mom to a new Fusion for $200. 00 a month with very little money down. I am seeing tons of Ford's with paper plates running all over DFW... all over TX for that matter. Insiders believe Ford is using the 0%for 72, which I believe ends this weekend to clear all 06 inventory. After that they will announce that the 20% cuts are to drastic, resume normal production and watch their stock go up. Time will tell. GM still has $3500. 00 rebates on the DMAX in the DFW area. That is $1500. 00 more than it has ever been. Not sure of Dodge right now... . they seem to change almost weekly but it was competitive when I bought my 06 3 months ago. Good time to buy a truck, or a car for that matter if you can live with any of the products being offered.

Harvey, from what I understand, the 'engine' isn't so much the problem with the PS. The Ford engineers, in their vast wisdom (surely they know more about diesels than the Navistar boys), did the fuel injection system on their own - scrapping the Navistar design. From what I have gathered, therein lay the crux of most of the problems with the PS - injection and injection related issues.
