2WD drag truck ?

Getting Diesel fuel all over....

Are they giving the same kiss to new customers? I'd really love to get rid of my POS Dodge / Cummins and get a Ford 6. 0 before it's too late. :-laf

Another example of that "Ford loyalty" from thedieselstop.com. In this guy's mind it's a forgone conclusion that a 6. 0L oil leak is in his future. Those 6. 0L guys sure are gluttons for punishment.

OK. for many reasons I traded in my 04 F350 on a new 06 250 king ranch. One of the reasons being the leak. 5 times i took the truck in to 2 seperate dealers. I got excuses from there is no leak to it is normal for a diesel to leak. While looking for a new truck I found one I liked. climbed under the truck to look at the bell housing and bam it had oil on it. Out of 20 trucks that I looked at that day 12 of them had oil on the bell housing. I was shocked that all of the trucks the dealer acted like he had never heard of such a thing. So now I have a new truck. so far no leak but wonder will it soon appear.

My truck had a leak at the bell-housing since day #1. I tried for months to chase it down, as I would wipe it and it would be ok for a few days then the area would be wet again. I pulled the dust cover off the bell housing, and the inside of the bell housing was clean as a whistle. I then went back under the truck and checked all of the Oil-pan bolts. The factory had left X4 of the rear bolts in between the transmission and the engine about hand tight. After tightening the bolts, truck has not leaked a drop of oil in over eight months.

The amazing part is that many Ford owners will look you right in the eyes and tell you "there's nothing wrong with the 6. 0". And most dieselstop.com participants are holding firmly to the belief that "there's no real problems with the 6. 0, it's just that we hear more of them here because people without problems don't post". :rolleyes:

Ford Motor has once again reminded the public that if you fail to do comprehensive research prior to purchasing a vehicle, you are running a huge risk. Go to almost any Ford dealer in the country and ask them about the bad injectors, oil leaks, bad turbos, etc. , and you're likely to get "oh, no, we've never seen any 6. 0's come back for any kind of work like that... it's a great engine with a great service record". In other words, they LIE or they live in a cave, coming out only to sell 6. 0s when someone shows an interest.

I desperately want to go to my local Ford megastore and look over the 6. 0s to see what the salesman says about them. Then I'd hand him a printout of all the articles that have come out nationally discussing the horrible failure that is the 6. 0. But I suppose there's really no point in wasting peoples' time when they need to work to earn a living.

That's very true, but with the 6. 0L it's just half the story. What simply amazes me is these Ford guys who already own a problem 6. 0L trading it in for a newer one. They'll even say in their posts something like "I hope that THIS 6. 0L will be problem free, unlike my last one. "

I really don't understand that mindset at all. Ford has basically admited the 6. 0L is a poorly designed engine. Why make yourself vulnerable to having all of those problems a SECOND time?

It's been said that one definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again hoping the outcome will be different. :{

Very true, but these die-hard Ford folks overlook that and keep going back for more. Their addicted to Ford.

And I love how FMC keeps saying "we've fixed the 6. 0, and it's much more reliable now". Right. Why in the world would anyone believe them? Because they have been so truthful about the 6. 0 up until now?! :rolleyes: Does anyone actually expect them to say "the 6. 0 is junk - don't buy one unless you really have to. We'll try to do better next time"? OF COURSE NOT! They'll just continue to LIE in order to keep the trucks selling.

One of my friends is in the middle of his SECOND LEMON POWER STROKE!!!!!!!!!!! The lack of help from Ford is criminal in my mind. The did do a buy back on his 03 PS but charged him milage on the use of it . His 03 was in the shop 48 days in the first year!! Finally lost the engine and then they sold him a second $50,000 truck that has some of the same problems. Now he is in debt so deep due to Fords shabby treatment he can not buy the Dodge he wants.
