What is a Slider?

Anyone have a ford excursion with a V10?? What kind of milage are you getting. I want to buy an Excusion and am trying to justify a diesel over a V10. The way it looks to me is that the diesel would be nice, but it would take years to overcome the added cost of the diesel, but alot depends on the mileage a V10 gets vs the diesel.

Any info you can provide would be great. I know a diesel would be more fun (never bombed a ford) but its for my wife and she really does not care if its diesel or not.

Thanks,

John

Thanks for the link, there where a couple of threads over there that had the info I want.

Seems the V10's get 15 on the highway and about 10 in town. My dodge gets 13 in the city and 18 on the highway so I guess a V10 is not out of the question now. Have to have the wife drive one to feel the power.

Thanks again.

If your minds not made up on an Excursion I can always see what my brother could do for you on a Limited Edition Grand Cherokee. They have an awsome friends and family program;) Not as much room as the Excursion of course but the 4X4 system is :--)

Our Powerstroke Excursion has averaged 20 MPG highway. It all depends on wind and speed. Most of the time we average 18 + on the highway.

Look at it this way... You can pay for gas, or you can pay for a Diesel up front. Either way you are going to spend the money, so why not get an engine that will last.

Powerstroke. I have a friend with a V10 in a extended cab 4x4 and he never gets over 14 mpg and that is only on long trips. He normally gets 8-10 mpg.
