Looks like Ford and International made amens, theres nothing like the smell of money to forget past problems??? Ford is now offering a 4. 5L Power Stroke V-6 in there LCF (Low Forward Cab) truck specs. It is rated at 200 HP and 440 lb-ft of torque at 1850 rpm, and come connected to the TorqShift 5-speed auto transmission. I'll bet money the F 150 will offer this option in the next 6 months.

For you , me or any other Dodge diesel owner it shouldn't make a differance or be good or bad, it's just news. I personally think it is good news, I believe there is a market for a half ton truck/diesel combo. I am glade Ford got their stuff together and made-up with International, this should work out for both of them. For Dodge and Chevy it will mean less sells, of both the 2500/3500 market and the 1500 market. I think the timeing was great, and Ford will do well. Should be just a short time till the Explorer and Escape get their turn at the diesel. Sounds like Ford will have a great couple of quarters what with the new Mustang and small diesel, I hope they do well.

The F*rd cab over truck is really an International Truck with F*rd badges. There is no telling what F*rd will have to do to the emmissions package to get to pass in a 1/2 ton. Might not be available in CA.

I hope they have a different team working on it than the 6. oh-no. Sounds like another Ferd disaster waiting to happen.

Is that what that sound is??? I thought someone had used the motor as a dishwasher and left some silverware in it.

Diesel STOP... Good one Vaughn! :-laf

Ford still has the kabosh put on the international diesel in the half ton. They are looking for a diesel manufacturer to build them one. From what I read they are looking long and hard at cummins. Cummins has a new v6 and v8. If dodge doesnt grab the v6 im sure that ford will. Cummins has given dodge first dibs but I think they will miss the boat just like they always do. It does seem to me that the germans are a little more forward looking than holden was. I want the v6 in the dakota. Id buy one for the wife if they made it.

Speaking of which. Cummins just got into bed with mercruiser. http://marinedieselusa.com/html/malibu.html

Now I was just wondering, if that new Jeep is outfitted with a Cummins, then why can't they put one in the RAM 1500, or even the Dakota for that matter.

no, I wasn't talking about the Jeep Liberty, I was talking about the new Jeep Rescue. It is an oversized Jeep wrangler. Built like the Hummer only even better, so they say. You could still be correct about the motor being from Italy, but I heard that it was a Cummins. I have not seen the vehicle yet.
