Hi I'm looking at a Forest River Wildcat 29' Bunk. There is only one dealer in Ontario so I haven't seen many around. It looks nice with lots of features I like. My question is do these trailers have a good reputation? The pricing seems good so I am a little leary since I am new to the R. V. world. Any help would be appreciated

I have a 2004 cardinal 34' 5th wheel made by forest river. the trailer is very well made. have been living in it 6 months. have had very little prolbems with unit. the dealer I got it from sucks. the prolbems I have had with it are under warrantie its been 5 months and the dealer has done nothing. called forest river and they told me that any rv repair place can do the repairs. thats all they have to do is call them to get the o. k. . that is a big plus. forest river is a good company to deal with. :) Jim

I have a 28BH, very similar to the unit you are looking at minus the rear outside storage area, only had it about 8 months but so far so good, we bought ours used, it is a '02, it was in very good condition. Seems pretty decent for the price point, I would say it about middle of the road in terms of construction and quality, but very reasonably priced for all the features you get.

We've only had ours since Feb, but have been very happy with it. Took a trip to Florida in March and now camping locally. Love it so far. Quality seems good, had a few minor issues (cable tv was stapled through, had to change the rear door lock, replace a hinge, etc. ) all of which were replaced by the dealer in a day. Don't think you can go wrong. Have spoken to other owners at campgrounds who have said the same. Also, check out their web-site, wildcatonline.com. Its kinda like TDR... :-laf It may give you some more insight, good luck.

I agree with the previous statements. I too bought a Wildcat 27 RL last year an 04. Had trouble with the dealer, but overall very happy with the trailer. Found a few things I changed over the year, and a few quality issues with the running gear, but overall I am pleased.

I lived about 8 months of the last 14 in it, 30 below last winter in Great Falls MT and 10 thousand road miles.

Let us know what you end up with

We bought a Wildcat 28BH in April. Been using it nearly every weekend since, and have had zero problems. We really like it. The CTD pulls great, even when we tandem up with the boat. The Wildcats have become pretty popular here in Colorado. THe dealer said to "make a list" of warranty problems, but we don't have any yet. I think you'll be real happy with it. :D Bruce

We purchased the 29BHBP in February of this year. I love the "Back Pack" to hold all my tools. Plenty of room especially if you have smaller children. We are very happy with the trailer. We are heading out to Yellowstone next week for our first extended trip.

Thanks guys , Thats enough good news for me to proceed with negotiations , oh BTW any idea what you paid for the 29 BHBP ?

I bought a 29BHBP in January, have had only a few issues that have been a pain (cable tv is a big one), I really like it, it looks great inside and out, lots of storage. I got the 10 gal water heater, 15k AC, 8 c. f. fridge, aluminum wheels, hide a bed, for 22k plus tax and license. John

I have a Cherokee Wolf Pack toy hauler made by Forest River and we are very pleased with it so far. for the $21k its a good value for sleeping 8 people in beds and ability to haul 2700 lbs. in the cargo area.

we bought/ordered ours through RV Direct and picked it up in Indy.

I bought it from Country Time RV in Riverside, CA. They had two at this price when I bought it. It's pretty loaded also, aluminum wheels, 10 gal hot water heater, outside shower, 15k BTU a/c, 8c. f. fridge, hide a bed sofa. They have a website that they list there specials on. Sales department was awesome, haven't been impressed with service. John

22k is a great price. I bought my 05 29BHBP in 08-04 and paid about 27k with tax, trailer brake and slider hitch. The same options as ropinfool, except the wheels. No real big complaints. (My power inverter went out the 2nd week and the plastic door catch/latch broke) over all I would saw its among the tops for fit and finish in the middle of the line trailers.

The dealer install on the hitch and brake wiring was a bad experiance. I would saw watch them close. I wish i had done it myself now.

The trailer is very nice and ive been happy with it.

I've had my 29bhs wildcat for the last two years. I bought it in summer of 03. I did have problems with the popout. Seemed to be an alignment problem and they also put too small of a circuit breaker in the popout system. It just kept poping the circuit breakers about every two seconds as I brought the popout in. Fortunately they are the self resetting kind. Other than that it has been a pretty good trailer. FYI there is a Wilcat owners web site.

You might also take a look at the Cougar. Very simular floor plan. I actually like the Cougar floor plan better. If I had to do it all over again I think I might choose the Cougar.

If you go with the Forrest River check out the extended warranty. I learned that after I bought mine they were offering a 2 year extended warranty for $99. 00. Wish I had it.
