2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission forget the clunk

Ya it went clunk last one she is dead no 4wd front drive line is turning rear line is turning rear tires turn front NO I guess it must be the front diff gears???? Im at a losss HELP

98. 5? That should be a CAD axle. There's a vacuum motor on the passenger side, it moves a sliding collar on the passenger axle shaft. If that motor can't lock the 2 halves together, you wont have any drive on the front axle.

the vaccum motor is broken its rigged so the fronts are always locked

Okay, assuming the CAD is locked, leave the tcase in 2hi, and see if you can spin the front d/s by hand. If you can, you've got a world of trouble inside the differential.
