I just read on CompD that they found remains near his home, I think yesterday, that his sister confirmed as him. Please pray for his family.

Really sad. I think I read somewhere that he suffered from some sort of mental health issues. Wondering if this has something to do with this incident?

Very sad, for sure. As brutal as finding remains may be, from my SAR experience, bringing closure for the family allows the healing process to begin. The unknown of a missing family member is like a dark cloud.

How did he end up by his house when he was supposed to be at the bayou?
Did he lock his keys in the truck and try to walk home? *And if so why didn't his dog go with him?
*I wouldn't worry about his mental issue . Mental illness is usually taken care with medication. Mental problems are usually effected by some bad experienced while growing up sometimes ad an adult.

He was apparently found near Chocolate Bayou, per this copy/past from a Facebook posting:

It is with great sadness that I inform everyone, on behalf of the Nearing family, that Forrest's remains were located today near the Chocolate Bayou. Although this was not the outcome that everyone was hoping for, we hope now that the Nearing family will find some peace and closure. Forrest was a loving son, brother, husband, daddy and friend. He will be greatly missed by all of us. We wish to thank everyone for all of your kindness, support, prayers, love, concern, time, resources, efforts, and determination. The Nearing family would not have been able to make it through the last devasting 3 plus weeks without each and every one of you. We are all heartbroken for the Nearing family and the caring community who worked so hard to bring him home. Please continue to lift up his family in your thoughts, prayers and actions.
