Forum section access such as Other and Politics

Last week, the large number of permissions changes to the Politics section over a two day period triggered a bug with a recent addon update. At some point, it locked out all guest users from seeing any pages. I had to roll back some of the database tables and files to a point before the addon was upgraded (the 7th).

It took a couple of days after this to rebuild Politics permissions. I put a notice up about permissions, but not everyone saw it, and a few people contacted me asking about being locked out.

No one had been their account targeted or locked out on purpose. The permissions should be good now. If you are a TDR magazine subscriber and still can't see the Politics (or Other) section, please let me know - I'll check into it.

(The rollback also made some changes to Alert and unread counts, and those had to be reset to zero to resolve them.)

The conversations appears to be a mess, I tried posting to one and it did not take. At least I could not see a response along with missing content.

Well, apparently that restore did not work. I still have a number one showing with no new replies and if I do go there and do a reply it does not show up.

I am also having the same issues with conversations.

Also, this thread wasnt on the "todays posts". Had to go to website suggestions to see it.

At this point I'm at a loss about what might be causing it. I'll try rebuilding all the caches the software has.

Good luck. You can only do what you can. It did seem to work for a very short time, like an hour or so.

OK, so I am just going to try to explain what just happened in conversations. I assume you did your rebuilding and did the restore previously. After the restore at least some of the newer posts after the 7th were visible for a one time thing and the number one was gone from the inbox. Backing out of conv. the 1 appeared back at inbox. going back in it died on the 7th again with nothing new showing. During the rebuild today the exact thing happened and I could see some posts I made yesterday that never showed up, backing out the 1 at inbox came back and the conv. died on the 7th again. It is almost like it loses permission to see anything after the 7th but they are there, we just can't see them.

Well the number one reappears at my in box again but of course if there is one I can't see it. Very frustrating.

I also have a conversation stuck at Jan 9. I know there are newer messages, I have a number 1 flag at inbox, and I’ve been able to see newer entries if I follow the email link I get when there’s an entry made in that convo. My alerts for the forum work fine.

NG for me. I thought it worked, but when I made a test post, it went into the vacuum.

It worked once for me this morning 1/28/21. Did a response then backed out and back to square one, no worky again.
