2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Found a 99 3500 SLT .. thoughts anyone?

145K, CTD, automatic, SLT, 3. 55 4x4 reg cab short bed dually

Running boards, after market rust proofing (yellow caps all over)

Nice walk in high cap with full height doorway



Cab corners still good but I can feel some small bumps forming.

I see tar like rustproofing on the shock tower and suspension components.

I see some delamination showing in those coated areas where seams are slightly breaking open to show orange rust.



Compared to my 99, this one is fantastic. However it is not perfect. The front end feels like it will need work as mine has several times. transmission feels ok but that is pretty subjective since my 99 is a 5 speed (or was until 3rd left us).



They are asking 9 which feels high for a Vermont rig of this age. I just filled my 99 tank for the first time in months. Ouch at 119USD. When I bought my 99, diesel was 99cents. I only put 3K on the 99 last year... . You would think the fuel mileage would get better as the rusted metal slowly falls off it...

That price is pretty steep for a rusted truck. Do you need a dually? You could find a rust free one cheaper than that down here and use your truck for drive train parts? JMHO.

I grew up in the new england and I know what a pain in the arse it is to deal with rusty vehicles.

Dodge didn't make a reg cab short bed dually in 99. Either your info is wrong or somebody has modified that chassis.

Should have been a little more detailed about the price i put in ,This was not some figure I pulled out of the air ,this was a price that the owner / friend of the local Dodge dealer where I buy all my trucks told me ,after going thur my truck and service records he told me that he would put this truck on his lot listed at just over 17k . But trade in around 13k,so I put it out there for an example, it really was not a Classified ad no (no contact info listed) Just a F Y I I hope that clears things up, want to see a picture ,TDR #71 page 119 middle row white dually

Thanks Scott, I will look again. I am so used to my short bed quad cab that this truck looked to short to be a long bed. Then again it has that high walk in cap. hmmmmm

I would love to find my exact truck with a rust free body. I don't need the dually. My truck is a quad cab short bed 5 speed. I don't care long/short. I don't care if the cummins is shot. I prefer the stick and want the 24valve as I have so many toys for this one I've collected over the years, (including a spare 24valve).

There is a shop local to me that just got a White 99 Dually Standard cab automatic just a breath over 100k,clean nice body and its windowed at less than 10k. if you want I can stop and have a look at it for you and get the details. Its right on my way to work and no trouble to stop. I didn't know you would consider one or could have told you about this one a while ago... ... ... Andy

The standard cab duallys look like short beds. I had a guy argue with me once. I had him stand next to the truck with his arms out and asked him if he could touch the tailgate and the front of the box. Then I pointed out it looked like he was about a foot short on each side.
