Anybody remember my whining about the excessive traffic enforcement in effect through most of Kentucky? I was asking if anyone knew of a radar jammer that would work, and also asked if the trucker's stories about using fish finders were true...
Well, I found another company today, they LOOK legitimate, but I wouldn't know. $500-600 for a radar-only jammer is an expensive gamble, unless you're bear bait with honey all over you, like me... I have no affiliation with this company, and have not tried their products, though I'm sorely tempted. The website looks a little plain, but not cheesy enough to set off warning lights in my head... y'all check it out and tell me whatcha think.

Briar,
Save your money. The Phanthom jammer at that website does not jam radar. There are no RADAR jammers being sold for cars that actually work, as far as I know. On the other hand, LASER jammers do work and work well. There is also a lot of junk out there. Also some will work in the U. S. , but not in some foreign countries because of the different frequencies used. The Blinder M10 laser jammer that I have on my truck works very well. Scott1 (the Physcotty guy) also has a M10 and he can attest to the fact that it works. For a LOT more info please check this website: http://www.radar.co.nz/usa/usintro.html
If you want a M10, I know where to get them at a pretty good price.

I don't think you will find an "active" jammer for sale by a company in the U S because there illegal. Everything I've ever seen is a "passive" system that cannot truly jam a radar gun. The fish finder thing was interesting, but I think to make a truly effective jammer you would have to find plans to build your own. More opinion than fact here, I could be wrong.

I want a reverse double whammy jammy that frys their equipment! How much are they?

Go back and read the site, guys, it's NOT the Phantom jammer that's been so widely advertised as the "passive" jammer, this new website even says the Phantom does not work. This is something else.
Yes, I know that "active" jammers are illegal, which is what makes me skeptical about this new one, but it definitely is not the same old Phantom we've come across...
Thanks for the offer on an M10, KOA Man, I might take you up on that, but it'll have to wait. (I need a new clutch first #ad
) The only state I've been hit with laser so far is South Carolina. I don't know of any Kentucky departments using it as of now.

The Phantom is not a radar or laser "jammer". I have used two of them for about 3 yrs. now. Have friend on sheriff dept. and check it out once in a while. They put out a signal that absorbs the radar or laser signal, so the radar gun cannot lock on to you till you are within 100 to 150ft. of them. They work!!! And I do not sell them.

When it said Phantom, I mistakenly assumed it was the one made by Rocky Mountain (which absolutely DOES NOT work. ) The Phantom RCD is a different unit. This same website also stated that the best laser jammer is the Blinder M10. Hawaii only uses laser and since I can't drive out of state, I don't need the radar jammer. If I was living on the continental US, I would get both units. That way I would be protected where ever I drive. If Speed Labs tested this unit and it passed, then I would say it works and probably is worth the money.

Are you using the Valentine-1 detector, and finding it "not enough"? It is quite effective, within one's ability to react to its warning in the case of "instant-on" radar, of course.

Good question, Joe... Yes, I have a Valentine One, and it works great, it's absolutely fantastic on the interstate. But it fails me (as would ANY detector) when the cops are using "instant-on" on 2 lane roads. The road I drive to work on is 2 lane, and very heavily patrolled by the state storm troopers. I don't know of anyone who hasn't gone "a little over" trying to get to work on time, or going home after a back breaking 12 hour shift. The Democratic governor in this state has pushed through extensive funding for even more traffic law enforcement, with extra funds going to the small town police departments, with predictable results... We now have speed traps in towns that never could have afforded to pay a cop's salary before...
To get back to the subject, the Valentine One is still the best protection money can buy, but I need a little something more for the times I'm on 2 lane blacktop...
