found another truck

i found a 90 ram 250 CTD it has 109k on it, auto, no power nothin, 4. 11 rear, reg cab and is fairly cheap. its got a little bit of rust on the quarter panel but none above the windshield and a tear in the seat but other then that its not bad what is the deal with performance upgrades with these trucks they seem to be hard to come by and when i find some they are damn expenstive. even an exhaust system is expensive and dont even come with hangers! i am going to look at it tomorrow what shoudl i know about these trucks (durablility, problems and whatnot), what should i look for, what should i ask about and how many hp are these trucks and one more thing how are these trannys compaired to the 47 rh/re in terms of durability

Since it's the automatic, is that a 3 speed or an overdrive? 4. 10's with a 3 speed would mean about 50 mph tops I think.

i think it may be just a 3spd with either 4. 10 or 4. 11 rears

All of the unmolested 3 spd auto trucks I have seen have 3. 07's. Even the duallies. Have you driven the truck yet? I cannot imagine a 4. 10 cummins with no OD. That would be slow.



On the performance upgrades I really don't think they are that far out of line. Just look at www.piersdiesel.com . It doesn't take alot to make the cummins run good. The auto will need a better convertor after a certain hp level is reached. The 727 is quite reliable, the convertor will be the weak link and the fact of no OD. Actually the 47RH/RE is just a 727 with OD and lockup convertor, in laymans terms.



I assume its twd? If it has just 109 K on it, it should be in pretty good shape unless it has been beat on.

I know it's too late now but just get a good look and make sure you try everything, 4wd, low range, lights, brakes, etc. Then if you don't buy it, let me know where it is so I can check it out.

well its got a deposit on it already the guy that looked at it before us the only way i got a stab at it is if the deal falls through

about the truck its gray, dirty, steel flatbed, bad seat but very good dash, ran like a top, would need about 1k to make it a presentable truck
