I have the KORE Chase System and need to get one or more of the shocks repaired or rebuilt, leaking reservoir after 15,000 miles??? Might just have them revalved too. Anyway, I'm near Portland, Oregon. Anybody know a rebuilder in my area?

Thanks

I'm thinking about re-valving mine too. I can't find anyone on the internet or locally to do it. I don't think it's too hard to do yourself. You might want to give Fox a call and see if they will help. If you do rebuild them, I'd appreciate it if you'd PM me or post the valve stack KORE uses so I can order a different stack from Fox before I tear down my shock to figure out what's inside.

You might call Jason Hughes@ 1-619-3568. He's a Kore distributor. Marek Robinson@Desert Proven is a distributor in Bend,Oregon also. Good guys.

Kinda crappy customer service at DRC this morning when I called for help. They were very vague regarding warranty info and rebuilders. That's why I love this forum, somebody always there to help. Thanks guys:)

dtc503 you must have got them the same time I did. It was different when Greg was there. Same problem my DRC Race system front shocks are losing oil past the seals.

Hey guy's, please feel free to pm me with your questions regarding your shocks. Or, my e-mail is -- email address removed --. I am catching up with e-mails from over the holidays right now, so send a few more my way. Attach your phone number and I will give you a shout.

Must be fairly common, mine started to leak before I pulled them off. Their new owner has had them resealed twice more since then.

No problems with my kings with many off road miles including chase miles in Baja and some pre-run as well.

The initial reason we switched from King to Fox, was the excessive amount of seal failures we experienced with the Kings. Fox shocks typically have very good sealing characteristics. I will say that it is good to know King has addressed some of the sealing issues we witnessed early on.

With respect to our Fox shocks, we do see more problems with the smaller hoses on the 2. 0s. The most common leak failure we have is due to people tightening the shock, and bending the hose against the tower(stem top versions). Usually not the shocks fault. With that being said, there are numerous ways a shock can leak, and the can all be addressed quite easily.

Get this, we have also been known to off road, pre-run, chase, and even race a little without them Fox's leaking either. Amazing, just like Bob4x4. Ha ha.

Assuming Mike rebuilt your FOX's ... was he using FOX rebuild components or King components on the leaky shocks? Big difference in tolerances etc... and who's been rebuilding them since you sold em' to the other guy?

Send em' to FOX in Santee. .

I have the correct rebuild seal kits in my FOX truck, along with mil-spec oil different than the others available to special project / race support trucks such as yours BobOo.

I have FOX Racing Shox in both of my trucks with extensive abuse that you are very familiar with and have never had a leaky shock... lots of miles in the dirt smashing the hell out of my suspension!

Have fun in the Mojave...

Thanks for the info,Desertbull, they live in Phoenix now. They have been worked on out there by an old desert racer. I never did catch the name.

Tomorrow I get the truck back from the dealer after getting the trans overhauled, slipping into 2nd:mad:, anyway Mark at SandTrans did respond to my email and after the new year I will give him a call. Sound like he got a good rep. or I may just ship them off to FOX as DesertBull suggested to make sure they are done right.

Thanks for all the help.

Rick
