OK, Finally got around to getting the necessary AC test hose to install my Nordskog FP gauge, and something must not be right, cause all I get is 3psi, no matter what, including when the truck is off.

All the mechanical FP guys need not do the "I told you so" routine :p..... So, seeing as how my constant 3psi isn't likely, I need some suggestions. The sender is at the end of an 18 inch grease gun hose, which is connected to the AC test hose (only about 4 inches long) coming directly off the VP. Do you need to bleed the air from the hose before attaching the sender? I didn't, because I didn't think it would matter.

Some other guys have your setup. First I would suggest is to check to see if your A/C test hose is fully opening the schrader valve on the VP. Second the air in the hose won't matter, will still read correctly. Third check your lift pump with another gauge as it could be your pump is gone bad. Because your right, you should be reading more than what you have.

I run the Westtech gauge from Geno's and the grease gun hose to the sending unit and VP. With 13,000mi on the pump I see 15psi with pump and engine not running, and 14psi at idle, 11-12. 5psi cruising.

get an inexpensive pressure gauge and adapt it to your AC test hose--even a cheap mechanical oil pressure gauge if you can't find something else. it may not be very accurate, but you should tell if you have some fuel pressure. tom meers at black mountain diesel sells a pressure test gauge kit made up already, also... www.blackmountaindiesel.com
