2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission FP Guage reading 6-10 psi

1999 24v With 56k miles - Bone stock



Purchased the truck in May, and installed FP guage. Have been monitoring for the last couple of months. Noticed fluctuation from 6-10 psi. Never gets below 6, never goes above 10. When tank is full, it reads on the higher side, when tank is 1/4 or less press. starts to go down.



I am taking a cross country trip coming up in a couple of weeks (IL to FL and back), and I was wondering if I should be concerned, or just keep monitoring?



I plan on upgrading the lift pump in September when I return home.



Also, I always bring an emergency repair kit on long trips (tire plugs, wrenches, bottle jack, etc. ) Are there any specific items that would be helpful to bring along?

Holy cow! 56k on a 99. that is hard to believe. There are replacement pumps out there that will take the place of the stock lift pump and are direct fit. I am looking at getting one from BLUECHIP DIESEL. They are claiming it is better than the DDRP and puts out a constant 15 PSI. The 24v's are a good truck. Keep an eye on the FP gauge and keep on truckin' man.

Hey, be sure you add another lift pump to your boonie box. There are some direct aftermarket replacements available, and if you don't need it when you get back, you can return it. Orielly's has a few options. http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/d...=Search_N0515_1377569_1959&pt=N0515&ppt=C0025



Geno's may have one, too, you might check.



Belt, a few tools, one or two fuel filters, couple spares, my air compressor, air jack, rifle, and copius amounts fo ammo, and I'm usually set to go.
