Personally, I'd be afraid of it. Supposedly, there are 2 different methods additives use to help remove water from the fuel. The 1st way is to help it precipitate out or better separate itself from the fuel and lodge itself in the fuel water separator or fuel filter, as the case may be. The 2nd way is to emulsify the water, combine it into the fuel and take it past the water separator or filter and pass the homogonized result though the injectors. I too used it years ago with no apparant bad results, but with modern injectors operating at such tight tolerances and at such high pressures, I'd be afraid of doing it that way. I think that when you subject that fuel water mix to the heat and pressure it sees in todays systems, you're just asking for blown injector tips. My $. 02.
