Recently crashed my 99 2500 4X4 on ice near Aspen. Truck has been "totalled" by insurance, but a local mechanic friend says the frame is not bent, only the weld-on front axle locating arm attachment brackets. I'm looking for a good Denver-area frame shop that could inspect and give me an accurate estimate of repairs. Any Denver-specific advice would be appreciated.

I have heard a lot of good things about Bear Frame and Axle in Denver or Engelwood on south Broadway, but I have no personal experience with them.

What ever frame shop you pick, make sure the technician puts the truck on a frame measuring system and gives you a good print out before and after. . I use a machine called the shark , and it works perfect. When I am done using the shark everything bolts back into place without slotting holes or using shims.

Thanks very much for the responses. Always knew being a TDR member would come in handy one day! Haven't decided to let her go or buy an '04. If I take the plunge, it would be much easier here at home in Detroit, where I work for Chrysler (oops... DaimlerChrysler). Funny how I get attached to vehicles. Maybe I'm just a packrat.

Tks again
