Just like it says ... my trucks running on 3 years old and these New York winters are starting to take a toll. What are you guys using for a frame treatment, how do you like it, and where can I get it?

Thanks

i used POR-15 rust paint. google it, it works like a champ. when cured its hard, and converts rust and stops it cold. even comes in colors. i have been using it for years on everything from my old 48 plymouth to metal steps.

I use Black Magic tire shine and my frame looks like new. If you have rust or bare metal spots, I would use the spray in bed liner that you can buy in a spray paint can.
Eastwood has some good product you can use also.

I get under it periodically during the warm months and hit the rusty spots with Rustoleum. Looks remarkably good.

I had considered using something like LPS No. 3, but I don't want every little bit of dirt sticking to my undercarriage. Paint is cheap and easy.

If you're really serious, like Ducman, POR-15 is pretty good stuff.

I just read an article in the May-09 Diesel Power Mag. They spec. material and go through all the steps on a very rusty old truck, with descent results.

All work was done in the driveway.

i think you can thin it out so you can spray it, -POR-15 Inc. , thats the site (im not sure about how to post a link). i have a few quarts laying around un opened if anyone wants some.

Every summer I spray around 20 cans of rubberized undercoating and there is no rust. Its a pain in the rear but I feel its worth the few hours every year.
