I was given a Franz Oil Filter, and I was wondering who was using them. What id they think of the filter,Oo. and where did they mount them on the mighty Dodge's ?

Thanks Ryan. It took a while to get through it, but I still haven't heard from anyone where they mount a Frantz in a 06 truck compartment. It's tight, but I'm leaning to mounting to the power panel cover on drivers side because of height requirements and also ease of filter changing in that location.

That location might work, but make sure it's still easy to get into the power panel if need be.

The other option that might work for you in AZ is to remove the passenger side battery. As long as it's warm, one battery should be enough to start the truck. And if need be, you can buy a single battery with more power than the 2 that come stock.

I mounted mine almost directly above the stock oil filter, using a 4"X8" piece of flat stock . 080 material drilled and mounted on the two forward exhaust manifold stand off bolts, the two that have nuts to hold the heat shield on. then just drilled for the frantz mounting bolts to flat stock. Be sure to check your hood clearence. mine is set so the bottom of the frantz is just above the level of the valve cover(the actual cover, not the plastic decoration piece,I tossed that the day i brought the truck home,The foward righthand mount for the plastic fake valve cover decoration I drilled and tapped for the return line from the frantz filter. Didn't like those cheassy looking oil cap set-ups. filter is very easy to change in this location.
