Well I just thought I'd let you know what happened to me yesterday while trying to get a bite to eat at McDonalds. I pull up into the drive thru line and turn off my truck to make an order and this lady in a Saturn behind me gets out of her car and starting preaching to me on how I'm destroying the enviroment with my "gas guzzler" and how I should be driving a fuel efficient car and not a noisy tree killer. Well she then proceeds to tell me that somebody should of done vandalism to my truck like some of the eco terroists have been doing:mad:. So I politely tell her to get back in her car because I decided I'm not going to try and explain this to someone this ignorant. :rolleyes: So we go through the line and when I'm leaving I wait for her to get behind me and I gave her a good smoke show which went into her car because of the wind blowing just right. She proceeds to give me the your number one salute and I just smile and drive away... :cool:

I can't believe some of these people. Sorry I just had to rant:-{}

IDIOTS

Every time I hear a story like this, I am reminded what Grampa said to my cousin & I when we were about 16. "Women! You can`t live with `em, and they frown on ya shootin `em!" I have taken a lot of s&^% from people whose ass don`t have to cash the check their mouth wrote. You did well by not backing over her. The only problem is she thinks she won a debate. Go figure. DK. :-{}

When are they going to re-name your state Colofornia??

Last time I was in Colorado, our local guys were really complaining about the greenpeacers moving there from California.

I would REALLY Enjoy meeting somebody like that!! I'd love to talk to 'em. Most are just as dumb as they seem to be.

She might be trying to save the world, or whatever, but causing damage to your property? Isn't just the threat illegal? I think it is here in Tx.

If I were you, I would have "accidently" put it in reverse and caused somedamage to here car. (in some sort of retaliation to her threat, not to her in person, but her words) It's not like those Saturns are all great and mighty either. They might get good mileage, but if you breath those exhausts for 20 minutes straight,, you are gonna die. (Closed garage syndrome)

I think a better way to deal with her would have been to ask what kind of mpgs her Saturn got then tell her yours gets a couple mpgs more because of diesel efficiency even if it wasn't true.

Ticking those kind of people off just makes them worse, they get more active in their cause then get laws passed that ruin it for all of us.

Here's a good tactic. As the jack butt-hole is telling you how bad a person you are, push in the clutch or put it in neutral and let your rig roll back. As your truck rolls back you will be able to easily put a receiver hitch mount through the radiator. Then ask them if they want a real vehicle to pull their broken down POS out of the way. I like the fuel mileage comment, that's a good one too. Here's another one, ask them how many miles are on their car, then proceed to tell them how many miles are on your truck and make them jealous. And of course if it's a guy that starts it, you could always do what I do and call him a homo or puss or something. You could use the line "Go back and get in your little gay Saturn, before a real man gets out and whoops your ass. " The phrase, "MIND YOUR OWN FREAKING BUSINESS" comes to mind as well. I'd love to ask them if they have absolutely nothing ebtter to do, and if not could they please find a life and a job and do something that will contribute to society. Luckily (for them) no one has ever said anything like that to me.

HEY!

Let's go easy on them "greenies" boys. My girlfriend's married to one. :)

Though debating Lefties is largely a waste of time (they occupy the moral high ground don't ya know. Spending others' money makes it so!), you could ask her how she expects work, REAL work, to get done w/o trucks like ours. Are we supposed to haul a box load of 2x8's in a Yugo?

And there's the employment issue, another fav of the Left 'cause our President isn't handing out enough Federal jobs. Who does she think creates the demand for RV's and boats? How many people are employed by RV and boat manufacturers? How many people make their living off of the users of boats and RV's? We all can't make a living suing people, regulating others' lives or demonstrating in front of the White House.

So typical of those on the Left, she ain't got a clue!

Any of you guys catch "surviving Nugent" yet. They(Ted and his old lady)tried politely explaining a few things to a vegan,like asking her if she lived in a house made of lumber. If so than she has indirectly displaced precious animals. The veggie just didn't get it and got all upset:{ . Pretty cool show,and one of the prizes for winning is a NEW RAM:cool: ... Doug

Awwww, quit it, already! All this sensitivity here is gettin' me misty! :D

Luv Nuge and his constant prodding of the greenies and peta jerks. Blood the smell of victory and the call of the wild. :D Kill it and grill it.

Even Ted's son said she couldn't win because the Ram had "Leather seats".

And hey, lets not turn this into a Saturn bashing thread. I'm on my third, the first two went to 150k miles w/o any problems that cost me money. The local brand inspector drove his to 340k until someone t-boned him. He only had minor bolt on parts to replace and he drove dirt roads every day. :p

Cracks me up how their burning fossel fuels is OK and us burning them is bad. Their home didn't take away habitat, ours did. My Jeep is bad in the back country is bad, their bike is OK, even though they drove it there on their car. How much money does PETA spend a year on conservation? What do they do for animals that's positive? They're some really clueless MoFo's.

Try this.

I never had anyone confront me in that manner but I do get people asking why I drive such a big truck around. This works good for me because I have a flatbed so it's obvious. I explain that I have a farm and farms need such vehicles to move heavy objects, etc. You could always say you use it for pulling your landscape equipment around whatever.

If this does not work then I guess it's back to basics. Get in their face and rage a bit. Just be able to back it up.

I usually start by asking them why they are breathing up oxygen that my son might need someday. The conversation usually devolves from there. :D

I haven't come across this yet. It seems that people give you a weird look here in Cheyenne if you are NOT driving a diesel. CTDs, PJD, and DMAxs are everywhere!!!

I would have "educated" that woman. I keep a wrecking bar in my truck called "the persuader". It helps people see things my way:)

Had that discussion with a lady at work once, but never out on the streets. This is TEXAS - everywhere you look there are people driving trucks :D :D :D so it doesn't draw much attention.

When asked why I drive such a huge, inefficient beast to work daily instead of helping the environment, I pointed out to this lady very nicely that:

- My truck is tremendously efficient because of the Cummins turbodiesel, returning 22 mpg on the highway at a total weight of 7,000 pounds. If her car were as efficient at half the weight, it ought to be getting 44 mpg (not necessarily true but she bought it :D :D )

- My engine is good for several hundred thousand miles, and since I intend to keep it long term, I have saved huge impact to the environment that would be otherwise be required to produce 2 or 3 different cars for me to consume over the same period. Producing a car or truck requires TREMENDOUS expenditure of energy, lots of raw materials, and unavoidable environmental impact.

- My truck uses diesel fuel, which takes less energy to refine and is more efficient than gasoline.

- My truck, having an oil-lubricated injection pump, can burn many alternate fuels without damage, even biodiesel and vegetable oil so if necessary I can go completely off fossil fuels.

- My truck, being very large and very red, is easy for innocent animals and birds to see so I am less likely to run over and kill them.

- My truck is comfortable and rugged enough to take the whole family out into the great outdoors to give the kids an apprecation of Mother Nature they would not be able to get as easily if I drove a lesser vehicle.

- My truck can fill multiple roles, being a daily driver, a horse trailer hauler, or even an RV with my camper loaded on, allowing me to squeeze maximum efficiency from a single vehicle.

She gave up pretty quick :D :D :D
