Bracket Racing Tutorial?

What happened to No. LACO chapter?

That's right. I received a call from Robert Patton last week asking for DieselSport Pormotions involvment in hosting an all expense paid drag race!

Once we made some phone calls, we found a little ole dragstrip nestled in the hills (there are a few) of Indiana at the Brown County Dragway in beautiful Bean Blossom, Indiana.

Robert had told me about his desire to have a drag race for this event, but even back in February, Indianapolis Raceway Park had no room in August.

Both DieselSport Promotions and the TDR are excited to give something to the members for free! So, no excuse Saturday morning August 17th we are racing. Robert and myself will get on the track and explain bracket racing, reaction times, breaking out, sandbagging, etc. This is the perfect opportunity for all to learn or show their expertise in racing.

We'll have two classes, 14. 99 and quicker and 14. 99 and slower. If we don't have many folks in the 14. 99 and quicker we may change the brackets to automatics and manual trannys.

See you there!

Thats great news Eric, I new you'd make it happen!!!!

I like the idea of a Manly Manual class, and a slushbox class, that would be nice!!:p :p ;) :D

Later, Rob

Hey Eric I am still on the fence on coming out for this event, convince me that I need to drive 3k miles to check this out. I need to sit down tonight and read the new TDR, does it have a break down of all the events going on at this years National? Can you believe the spell check feature does not know what TDR is !!!!

It does now Blair. I've been trying to figure out how to add words to the spell check dictionary and just got it figured out tonight.

Good job Steve I new it could be done. Well the TDR doesn't seem to have 95 bucks per person worth of info in it for the Nat's,

who can tell me more. The free drag racing is cool but I am not sure I should partake being so far from home and having no way to get the trailer back home if something goes wrong.

What if

I'm not spending the $95, can I still come and play and the drag strip?

I promise I'll be good:rolleyes: :)

I might even bring a Dmax for you guys to play with.

Darrell the freeloader ;) :p

Yes Darrell, it's really for the paying folks, but I'll let your homely butt in. The more the merrier.

Rob, I too am liking the manual and auto class idea.

Blair, you can spend the $95 + expenses to come out to Indiana and stay for the Sheid Rally the following week. That would more than make it worth while. $95 is a chunk of change, your decision sir. I am just promoting the drag race, the TDR is incharge of the ice cream social!:D

I'm in!

Hey Steve, you want a piece of me????:-laf :-laf :-laf Just leave something for wxman, I want a rematch against that old 1st gen that beat me in Muncie. Thaks Eric for hookin' us up with the dragstrip.

I was thinking the same thing Eric, but I would need 3 weeks off for that!!! Well I better get working on it so I can come. I will try but no guarantees. That sure would be a nice vacation wouldn't it. Oo.

Back, after a great weekend at Black Mountain Diesel.

I forgot to mention earlier it is only an 1/8th mile track. This gives some of the magazine reader's a chance to see what all will be happening (on a bigger scale) next year at the Diesel Pickup Nationals.

I like the top idea I quoted. Also, I think Rob wants it to be classed like that so that he has a chance to win!;) Not that I could beat him though. :(
