I've heard and read people say their first oil change was free at the dealer. Is this true? Not that i would have them thou.

Yeh, I got one but took my own oil with me . They gave me a couple of oil filters in place of the oil since I brung my own.

My dealer is giving me 10 free oil changes on my new truck. I must admit, I am a little funny about letting them do them though.

I am going to be draining the break in oil out today.

I don't believe they put break in oil in the Cummings. It's just regular Valvoline Premium Blue 15W40 last I heard.

Your right, it is regular oil. That's all the more reason to get it out after it has been run for a couple hundred miles. I prefer to get the first oil change after a couple hundred to get rid of any break in contamination.

The oil I've drained out of both of the new Cummins I've owned was green as was the oil my friend drained out of his new 8. 3 (Kenworth) . Is the Premium Blue green in color?

FREE oil change

My dealer insisted on doing first oil change at 3K miles, was out of town and did not get back until 7500 miles, dealer still did FREE oil change and they used Mopar 15W - 40 diesel oil, I snuck around to the bay where my truck was and checked it out!

I let my local dealer do a free oil change on my truck, it looked like they just poured the oil on top and let it sink in someplace. There was oil everywhere, needless to say i won't let them do any work on my truck. :--) :--)

I would not deal anywhere that I would not trust the service department to do anything to my truck, never mind an oil change. Sometimes it pays to shop around for a good dealer instead of the best price. The sales dept sells the first time, service sells the next. I like a small dealership that doesn't change help like they change socks. BTW, there is no such thing as "free", it is paid for in full one way or another. Just my cranky nickel's worth :) ;) .

There is a reimbursement program from D. C. on the oil chages. A lot of lubes from the manufacturer are colored to prevent any mix up to fluids and weights etc. Its dyed. The guy who did my oil change was quick and clean. No oil left any where it should'nt have been. :D

Re free oil change: My dealer gave me 2 years

of free oil changes. Never dealt with them

before but will make sure the work is done

properly. Lately they have been offering

4 years of free oil service in this area.

I puchased mine in May, most powerful

vehicle I've ever owned, not a moments

trouble with it.

when I got my truck last month dodge was offering 14 oil/filter/lubes with purchase. I have not yet needed to change oil but have been very happy with their service on my previous vehicle. Since it was a national promotion can use at any chrysler dealer.
