Do any of the free spin kits (spyntec, dynatrac, yukon) work on a dually? I just read on the Spyntec site that you need an aftermarket front dually spacer to make it work. (read: more expense)

I did the leg work on figuring out the Spyntec one a few months ago and they have one that bolts on without any other items or spacers etc. It was about $2,100. 00 or so. The Dynatrac one, you need to machine out the inside diameter of the oem spacer, so I prefered the spyntec one. I have yet to buy one yet, I'm waiting till I can justify it when a wheel bearing goes. I'll be down for a week and hopfully they will have one in stock when I need it. They were out of stock when I had called them a few months ago.

The last spyntec we sold was $1750 + shipping. We have them on our dully. The machan work was really nice but the they don't use clips on the end of the shafts. We machined and installed our owen on the ones we install. The U-joints could have fit a better. You can immediately feel the different when you drive it.

Im confused. The new adapters are $2100 (that cannot be right?!?!) or a complete kit that works with the dually including adapters is $2100?

So are you saying the spyntec will fit wiht the dually (stock front adapter)??

for the dynatrac you have to buy a spacer, i think it is from arrowsmith but dynatrac will tell you when you order. i think the total cost was about $2,000

Here is what the Spyntech looks like installed my 3500:

For dually setup, Spyntech kit is the way to go. The most expensive kit seen to date is $1750. 00 with free shipping, which is a great deal since its a heavy kit.

Spyntec install

I have the Spyntec on my 05 dully. Great kit, everything is complete. Get the tools that they recommend and follow instructions... . Folks at Spyntec will help if needed. Truck drives better and gets better mpg. Very happy.

Con: Not a spyntec kit. It uses a lot of parts that spyntech does, like the hub, seals, bearings, etc. but the parts are from a different vendors. ABS ring is exposed. That kit has been on back order and has a waiting list .....

Pro: its cheaper ... EMS has excellent service and support.

I am firm believer that if you are going to kit one of these kits, get one that is manufactured complete. It has been engineered as a whole unit and tested as such. Not that many company out there making the spindles and hubs, so they are designed to be interchangeable.

Here is pic of the actual spyntech spindle / mount with the bearings on:

That unit alone is the cost difference between spyntech and others, spindles if purchased separately is $400. 00. Its heavy and solid piece of work ! I especially like the mounting surface area, beefy !

Do not get me wrong, any floater for the front to get rid of that worthless bearing design is a MAJOR plus. In my case with 4x4, ranch work, gravel roads, river crossing, etc. , that exposed ABS ring would be a problem for me. The spyntech kit is universal and no issues to date.

For those that have not disassembled their front dually axle, here is what all gets replaced, a series of after thought designs ..... :

I would call EMS and ask for Tom, tell him morbius is sending you his way from TDR and see what kind of deal they will cut for you. They are great folks and great service.

Hope that helps.
