I have been struggling with the Freeway Bounce caused by the Expansion Joints in California Freeways. I think I have finally gotten it undercontrol and wanted to pass along my findings. My 99 2500 Long wheel base, Stock Tires (front 50 psi, rear 45 psi), equipped with the oveload leafs and it would **** near bounce you out of the truck. My first attempt to reduce the bounce was to remove the overloads, had little to no effect. Next contacted Mr Bob and talked with him about the Roadmaster Active Suspension. He said he was getting mixed results with the 2500 Long Beds. He reported excellent results with the 3500's. I decided to give the Roadmaster a try (XX Model). Installation was simple and then comes the settings. I started at . 080 and went up to . 125 the bounce was still there and pretty noticable. Went down to . 060 and then to . 050. That seemed to help quite a bit but there was still some bounce, but a big improvement from stock. Next purchased 4 Rancho 9000's with the in cab adjustment. Front installation no problem, but that right rear shock.

Got those installed two days ago. Have been doing a little test driving on various settings. I have the Front on Level 3 and the rear on Level 1. I think I have the bounce under control. I have yet to try a couple of the real bad spots I know of and will be doing that in the next couple of days. But so far no Freeway bounce.

I need to add that these test are with an empty truck. I am very pleased with the ride and handling of the truck while empty.

The Roadmaster really keeps the truck flat in turns. The addition of a high quality shock was the extra needed to smooth out the ride. I'll post a follow up when I get a chance to hit some of the know bad spots on the freeway.
The in cab adjustment, RS 9700, for the Rancho 9000's is nice but I see a drop in pressure each morning. Equall to about 1/2 or a full setting. Does anyone else that has the in cab adjustment system see this? Do I have a very slow leak? Or is it a change in outside temperature? I don't want to over tighten the plastic connections. Would a lubricant of some sort on the little O rings help seal it up? 24 Air Line Connections to test!!!
