Had the truck at the dealer today to fix my A/C. Too much gas in the system for proper performance. My truck came from the factory like this. Oh well, works great now. Was 53F, now 40F.

I have to bring the truck back next tuesday for an overnight stay for the freeze/soft/whatever plug issue.

The service writer was not able to give me a written copy of the bulletin but I think its the same one discussed here a while back. He said he would print the info for me onto my copy of the work order.

My truck was built in Jan 04. Currently 1,575 miles and NO LEAKS, so I'm confident she'll pass the test.

My question is this... This truck sat at a dealer in Manhattan from Jan 04 until late May 04. Why didn't they do the test if this bulletin is so critcal?

I will post as much detail about this as I am able to get.

Regards, Vic

Test

rbattelle,

I think he is refering to the test where they let your truck sit overnight then run it WOT for 3 minutes to see if your freeze plugs fail.

Yes, You are correct.

The RRT does not have to be done on delivered units. Have your dealer call STAR if they don't believe you. But it won't hurt anything if they do.

my dealer asked me if i pulled my fifth wheel camper yet when i told him i did he said then it past the test with out leaking , camper stress was more then the stress the test would give

That's interesting. I really would like to get my hands on an actual copy of the RRT. Considering the length of time the truck sat at the original ordering dealer (almost 5 months) this should already have been done. (my dealer located the truck for me in the Notheast region)

Does this or any such bulletin become part of a permanent record that any dealer can access?

All dealers can look up PAID warranty claims. If ANY tsb, recall, warranty repair was done and submitted and paid by D. C. it shows up I believe for a year?its at least a year, maybe longer now. Its accessed through there normal computer channel that any service writer can pull and print. Nissan wanted all warranty history given to a customer on request. G. M DID NOT and D. C. was iffy, preferred it wasn't but said do so if customer insisted.
