The latest Four Wheeler has an article about the Mercedes Benz Unimog that will be sold in the U. S. under the Freightliner name. How's that for a truck? A 3-step ladder to get into the cab, 44" tires, and a transmission with 8 forward speeds and 6 reverse! Engine horsepower and torque specs are similar to our trucks. Anybody have $80 grand laying around that they don't need?
Andy

I've always wanted a 'Mog and this new one looks awesome! I'd really be interested if they had a four door version, and if it would fit under a few more overpasses around here! The thing stands about 10 feet tall!

What is a little sad though is the towing capacity. The specs say the GCVW is 27,500 lbs, and the curb weight is something like 12,500 lbs. So, that means a towing capacity of 15,000 lbs max, which isn't really much more than a properly equipped Cummins dually.

What do you think, 0-60 times measured in weeks? #ad

Veeerrry interesting, Scott! What do you think of the list of options: "central tyre inflation", "hydraulic seat for driver", and "lubrication chart in English"?
Andy

What a truck!!

I know all too well about the "Hydraulic"
Drivers side seat. Had one in my K-5 Blazer when I left my window down and then came a Thunderstorm. #ad
