Of course it happens on a Friday night. I got my first "idiot" light tonight. CHECK GAGE. Not sure what it means, but I got concerned and opened the hood and the passenger side battery was all wet. The trucks only three years old. Seems a little early for a new battery.

Any help would be appreciated. I don't have much time to get anything done. Appreciate it folks!

I had this exact problem on my 2007 about a month ago. My right side battery was steaming, bubbling, and hissing for more than an hour after I shut it down. Took it to the dealer and they told me the other battery was almost gone, too. The service advisor said that they had several years of bad batteries, but they have recently begun using a better brand. I had to buy both batteries cause I was 250 miles out of warranty.

Check gauges simply means that one of the gauges is out of parameter. In this case probably the volt meter was off, but it could also be for low oil pressure or overheating for that matter. If you have to replace your batteries, I would recommend the Sears DieHard platinum, made by Odyssey and is of the AGM style, which means no corrosion at the terminals. Of course, it depends on your budget... You might want to check your alternator while you're at it to make sure it's functioning properly.

Good luck.

Yep, has never had a day of "inside" in it's life. Guess I'm off tomorrow to get two new batteries. I assume one gets two batteries instead of one? Thanks everyone!

Absolutely! You always want to replace batteries in pairs. Otherwise the older one will take out the new one from overcharging it.

Thanks for the information regarding the Diehard platinum batteries. Any other type of batteries that a good, but don't cost a fortune. Also, what series batteries are they? Thanks again everyone!

Batteries are all pretty much the same. I get my batteries from Costco. The price is very good and the warranty's excellent.
