Since mile 100 i have been running delo in my truck, I can get it at a decent price at costco... . I have also been thinking about trying out rotella... should I do it or stay with the same oil?????this might be opening a can of worms... . just curious... thanks:rolleyes:

If you go with Rotella, buy a clothespin for your nose. The fumes from crankcase blowby are awful with it's use.

I have the truck in my signature and before that was a 99, never used anything but Rotelle in either except one time in Phoenix Az. when I had the oil changed at a jiffy lube abd they put in the wrong oil. I have never smelled the Rotella nor has my wife ever complained about it but my sense of smell is limited. bg

I have had 4 24 valve trucks. On the first three I always ran Rotella and it was VERY smelly. On number 4 i am running Delo and and VERY happy. Lube quality is just as good, smells less. cost less, availability is better, no brainer to me as I am now a DELO man.

Oil is cheap - - compared to an engine overhaul - - I don't think changing oil brands would be smart at this point. I've used Delo 400 since my first diesel truck (an 1980 Chevy) and I wouldn't consider switching to Rotella, my son has used Rotella since his truck was new and I wouldn't consider asking him to switch. Stick with the same oil you started out with.

x2 for my $. 02 worth nothing wrong with Delo.

I am being 100% honest here, I made a huge mistake. Its is Mobile Delvac 1300 that I switched to NOT DELO. I really really like the Delvac as it is both cheap and odorless. Plus I run the Mobile One in our other cars. Mobile has great products and that is why I switched to Delvac not Delo. Sorry to sway your results...
