Today an elderly man & woman from our Church called Gail & asked about a beef purchase, Gail said that he's sure they could work something out come over a take your pick. The man who does our processing came with her. She and her husband looked until they found one they liked, he's in a wheelchair from a stroke she told Gail he wanted to know what the price was? Gail told them he's running a Blue plate special on that one he's free today only. She asked why he's doing this? Gail said that she reminded him of his Mother. The processor told them that he would cut & wrap it for them on the same Blue Plate Special. As they were leaving she again asked him if he was sure about this, Gail told her he's positive that's the way us country folks roll isn't it?

Last winter my son posted an ad on the Facebook marketplace for snow removal. This past fall, an older lady responded asking if he still offered his services. They agreed on a price over messenger and he went over there to shovel. When he got there he realized she made the job sound a lot bigger than it really was. He shoveled about 30’ of front sidewalk, 8’ of rear sidewalk and 10’x20’ driveway. Took him about 10 minutes. She came to the door when he was done and tried to pay him. He told her to hold on to the money for now and she can pay in the spring. He shoveled 12 times and I shoveled 4 times when he had to work. His last time going there she wanted to settle up with him. He told her that he can’t take her money because she reminds him of his grandma.

Gail's gone to sleep he's been up for God only knows how long. He's got some pretty rough edges & he knows that. His Type A personality includes hostility, competitiveness, hard time expressing himself under stress, perfectionism. One thing above all of these is his desire to help people, starting at 18 helping others 10,000 miles away from home, his disaster relief efforts are IMO simply Super-human in nature, this is just a continuation of his wonderful Heart. He's very secretive in his feeling but they reveal themselves in things like this when others could use a helping hand.

Meanwhile, on the five this afternoon, Juan Williams was downplaying examples of neighbors helping one another and declaring the govt should be the go to outfit. This is the best example of the difference between liberals and conservatives I can think of. A liberal wants to help using other people’s money and then take credit for what others pay for. Meanwhile, the conservative reaches deep in their own pocket and shuts their mouth. Good for Gail. I’m sure he’ll sleep well tonight.

Hoping everyone is doing well, we're hunkering down at home with family. Grandchildern had their school studies with the help from all the brainy-acks we have amongst our family. I got everyone out to raise their BP & get the blood flowing with exercise and chores, life on a hobby farm doesn't stop!!

Son went on a call in Indianapolis to a Dialysis center. When he & other EMS crew walked in wearing Hazmat suits (Protocol) the Nurses started laughing asking what they think they need the suits for Laughing about how silly they look. Well the man they treated had the virus EVERYONE treated & staff aren't laughing any more they are quarantined for 14 days. Wether this virus is real or not Im not qualified to make that judgment call so I figure to listen and use caution, I like the isolation anyway so to me this is bliss.

I have asked everyone here to quit watching the news and reading media Horse xxxx our Son will let us know if there's anything we really need to know without anyones slant on the subject, the weather station we have connected outside to our home will tell us what we need to know, I use the oldest method known to mankind STICK MY HEAD OUT THE FRONT DOOR AND DECIDE IF ITS COLD OR HOT AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION. Personally I feel that all this technical media crap has been what caused the hysteria. Some really funny things have been posted my favorite was the "Giant Mouse Trap using XXX wipe as Bait" PRICELESS

That is pretty BIG.
In light of the economic crash were just starting to, or are about to experience that was very nice, and I’m sure the customers (can you even call them that?) are beyond happy. I’m watching this all unfold on social media, where I mostly follow racing folk, and many are suddenly out of work, but AJ Foyt and his organization are a different cut. He’s paying his entire staff for the duration of this moratorium. That’s incredible.

My roots are from Nebraska & North Carolina, my Moms family was dirt poor but always had a giant garden and shared what they could when they could with others. Being very young when they passed I just had my mothers recollection of how they were but I do remember their being Spiritual and where I was exposed to singing in Church.

My Dad's family were farmers in Nebraska again poor but Grandpa said that they didn't have much especially during the depression but being on a farm ALWAYS had plenty to eat. They didn't have as much contact with others, farms in Nebraska are still pretty isolated today. My Grandparents believed in hard work from the moment you open your eyes until they closed, many a time I fell asleep at the dinner table with my head falling in my plate of food to them that was a sign that I had put in a pretty decent days work.

You put those two together and thats where I feel I came from. I REALLY LIKE working in a farm setting and like it so much that I have a tendency to OVER PRODUCE that steer was getting big and needed to be on someones table. I don't try to make a great deal of money off them basically I make enough to pay for the feed so the family gets meat to eat for free and a little for my time doing it that usually goes back with some more out of my pocket to repair fences barns and such. Sharing with those folks wasn't that big a deal the Bull & Cow did the work for the most part I go out to make sure their taken care of and have something to eat & water.

BIg, You're wrong... You sir are made with Common Sense and a Big heart. All that growing up stuff was just guiding those two things.
From the sounds of things they didn't break the mold when they made you either. Your children seem to be walking in those BIG shoes.
