Good evening all,

One of the rubber hoses that go from the metal line to the front aux. cooler gave up on me tonight (thankfully it happened 2 feet into my driveway after I'd been driving 100 miles in the boonies). From what I'm reading, these should be 5/8 hoses, but the ones on there now are 15/32. I can't find any direct fit replacements online, and I'm not having any luck finding 15/32 transmission cooler hose either. Can anybody confirm if these should indeed be 5/8" or is 15/32 correct? The hoses on there now are PCV hoses as you can see in the pic, which is probably why it blew lol. They say 2.4 bar on them, which is only 35psi. It's a wonder they lasted as long as they did. The hose that blew is the one on the left side with no writing on it. It's all swolen up and torn at the hose clamp where it joins the hard line.

These go from the hard lines on the driver side of the engine to here:

@RedD250, 15/32" is closer to 1/2" then 5/8". 15/32" = 0.46875" and 1/2" = 0.500". 1/2" should be easier to find at most auto parts stores. Good luck with the fix and get the better hose clamps that won't dig into the hose. ( t-bolt vs. screw type)

What happened to the hose? Did the end split out or is there a hole worn in the middle?

15/32” is halfway between 7/16” and 1/2”, 1/16” smaller and 1/16” larger. If you can find 12mm you’re almost dead on. Just make sure it is made to handle ATF.

The end split right where it attaches to the hard line, and the whole hose is all lumpy from end to end. The other one is still solid, but I'm going to replace both to be safe. The reason I'm asking about the correct factory size spec is because I saw an old thread on another forum that said if you go larger or smaller than stock, it won't cool as well and may overheat. But in the same thread, both 1/2 and 5/8" were listed for the correct size, so I just wanted to be sure. I don't want to burn up the transmission. I checked the FSM, but it doesn't have any info. I suppose the best way to determine the correct size would be to measure the outside diameter of the hard line with a micrometer and get the closest size hose to that. Larger would leak, and smaller wouldn't fit haha.

Do you have a pic of the rubber/metal joint? I’m wondering if it’s crimped. Can you cut or grind the ferrel away and clamp a new piece of hose on?

I don't have a closeup pic of the joint, but it's just a straightforward rubber hose replacement, shouldn't require any cutting or grinding. The metal line is still in good condition. I just wanted to be sure of the size before I bought new hose since it would be a pain to take the hard line off and bring it in to the store to see if it fits.
