I've got a leak in the front axle cover, and looking at this, it looks like I will need to pull the tie rod to get the cover off. Is this correct or is there enough clearance to get it off without having to pull it?

If you have to take the cover off, use some ultra grey silicone to seal it with. Just make sure to clean it up and let it dry before you put it on and let the silicone tack up. While your there, I would go ahead and switch to synthetic gear oil, that's what I did, just my . 02 cents worth

While its off, get a Mag-hytec cover..... O-ring seal and dipstick checking and easy to pour in new oil and drain plug... ... Course you will have to remove the driver side tie-rod to fit it on... .

If you go to napa you can get a gasket for a dana 60 if thats what is in your truck. I just took the cover with me and they matched it up, I hate rtv and wont use it unless it's a last resort. Be sure to clean up the inside of the diff and wipe out any crud like the rtv the dealer used. Good luck

Dirk
