I recently bought a 2009 3500 4 wheel drive. I wanted to add a switch to be able to go into 4 wheel Low with out the front axle locking in. Since I could not find the usual spot on the front axle where it locks in, I am assuming it is done in the transfer case now.
Anyone know how it works and what plug (or connector) and wires I can splice into to accomplish this.

Unfortunately you cant do that, the front axle is always connected to the hubs. You would need to install manual hubs to run low range 2x4.

Thanks for the quick response. Disappointing to hear, I thought it would be helpful when backing my 5th wheel into an RV spot on the black top.

I have the DynaTrac freespin kit on my truck and low range while backing a load with the manual is definately easier.

how much did u pay for the dynatrac kit? did u install it? if so how easy? i am trying to decide if i am going to put them on now. . i have an old chevy with lockouts and can't understand why they are not standard on all 4x4.

DynaTrac does not have a kit for 09and newer. I e-mailed them a little while ago. Thay have a kit in development.
Apparently, I deleted the message already, and I don't remember when they said it should be available.
