I got a leaky front drivers side axle seal does anyone know if you can just pry out the differential and tap it back in? I did this on my wifes jeep with no problem. I'm not sure if the larger axle will make it harder?
 
I've done it on a SuperDuty. Don't know why it wouldn't work on the RAM.

I can't remember what the brand was, but I bought it at Kragen, and it came with a life time warranty. Don't know how they do that... ... .

Make sure you don't have excess play or any groves where the lip rides.
 
the story's abound needing a case spreader etc to slide the carrier out— mine was so easy it fell out and smashed a finger! When you change it out try to clean the axle tube since the resident oil will have you thinking you failed when you didn't!!
 
To replace the drivers side seal the ring carrier has to be removed, the seal goes into place from the inside. I did a writeup on what I had to do when I changed out my seals, here is a link to it Front axle seal replacement. Something else to concider is what shape your u-joints and ball joints are in, this is a good time to replace them if needed.

I had no problem prying my front carrier out and tapping it back in with a plastic deadblow. Just don't mix up your bearing races and caps. the drivers side is actually the easy side, but to pull the carrier you're going ot have to pull the passenger axle, probably going to have to do that seal as well, unless it's already new.
 
Yeah I;m gonna do both seals and i know one u joint is bad hopefully the yoke isn't twisted requiring another new axle (again) i gotta do the ball joints to while i'm there
