Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) front axle shaft

I put new rotors on my 3500 and messed up the short axle shaft when I took off the nut to seperate the axle from the bearing assembly hub. Will an axle from a 2500 with a dana 60 work? Just wondering so when I start my search.

I believe if it is the same 30 spline axle it should. 2000 and newer is 32 spline
