I think the previous post was thinking you were swapping in 03+ AAMs as the older axles were only 3. 55 and 4. 10, not 3. 73 and 4. 10...
The 00-02 are a direct bolt in to a 94-99, however you might lose the CAD (and therefore the 4wd light and axle disconnect) and your driveshaft will spin all the time (possibly leading to vibrations). Most 00-02s don't have the CAD...
You could buy an older electric "switch" to put in place of the vacuum "switch" in the tcase to get the 4wd light to work possibly (like one out of a 81-84 dodge truck that uses a NP208??)
Why aren't you simply swapping gears into your current axles? Getting rid of the CAD? Have the other axles rebuilt while still driving the truck??
The later axles are marginally stronger since most don't have the CAD...
