2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Front bearing hub change

I am getting ready to change out the hub/bearing on my 01 3/4 4wd 4 wheel abs. what size socket is the big nut, and bolts holding the hub on? Is there anything else I need?

Here's a link to a writeup that I did on changing the front axle seals, the first part will help you with the hubs. This was the first time that the hubs had been off since I got the truck new so they had been on for about 6 years when I did the seals.

One secret to making this an easier job is to use anti-seize on the mating surfaces between hub and knuckle, as well as on those 4 bolts. If your mechanic isn't doing this, he's just making more work for himself.

I wish I invented it!! last hub change they did literally come loose in my hands (have witnesses - sceptic wife and discerning child aka crew chief!!). Coat every mating metal surface with it when you reassemble—you won't be sorry!!

I just loosen all 4 bolts holding the bearing, put a deepwell socket on one and turn the stearing wheel, it pops the assembly loose, never had a problem.
