OK... I am putting new pads on my truck. When I get the old ones off, I notice that one of the pads is worn unevenly. The top of it had almost a 1/4" of pad left, but the bottom was down to metal almost. When I started checking out the brakes, I noticed that a small clip from where the pad rests and slide on the bottom is gone. I can't find these clips anywhere. There is still the one on the top. I was told by my dealer that the only way they can give me one is to buy a new set of pads (they come in the box with the pads). I already have new pads and don't want to have to fork out all that money for just this clip. (antivibration or brake shim, I don't know what to call it). No junk yards have a 2000 to 2002 truck. NAPA doesn't sell it as well as all the other low budget autoparts retailers. What do I do? The dealer tells me that they usually just take them all off anyway. It seems there would be too much play on the pads to just take them off. Yes, I did do the brake job last time also... . I must have just lost it.
