Been looking around for a decent (strong) pushbar like on law enforcement vehicles or a replacement bumper.

I have looked at the Denver Off Road, but I don't like the light hoops, and I would rather not have the winch permently mounted in front. Receivers in the front are MUCH more handy for moving the boat, and for the choice of placing the winch front or rear depending on the circumstances.

Besides, it looks as if the DOR will not properly fit a Sport model.

I like the look of the stock bumper, but I realize it will crush like paper. With a truck that weighs in at 8020lbs, I would like a bulletproof bumper that will shear the stupid knucklehead's car in half when the infamous T-Bone is imminent. Deer killing is not out of the question also.

Anyone seen any good bumpers/pushbars for the Sport??? Can anyone recommend anything strong and custom???

ANY help/input would be GREATLY helpful. :D :D :D

Good question....

I've been trying to find something for mine as well. There's a few pushbars out there-WAAG is the first one that comes to my mind but there's others as well. Pretty light-duty though-and I'm thinking that the stock tinfoil bumper would limit their effectiveness anyway (ever pulled the fascia off to see what's back there? I have... . :( ).

And replacement bumpers are all made for the standard front-ends-I don't think they'll look worth 2 cents on a Sport because of the grille protrusion requiring you to space the bumper down for clearance.

There's a place in Winnipeg, Manitoba called Ali-Arc that makes "protection bars" for Class-8 trucks as well as light trucks. Basically, they're the "roo bars" that you see on trucks down under-quite a few of them on haulers up here too. They make a replacement bumper for the regular trucks-and they're thinking about making one for the Sport trucks. Buddy of mine is bugging them now to go to a dealership, borrow a truck and get on it-if I was closer to Winnipeg I'd take mine out there. However it's 12 hours of hard driving from here-and they need the truck for 2 days-not really feasible in my work schedule.

If you want an idea of what they look like they do have a website at www.aliarc.com . They're not as heavy as a Denver Off-Road bumper-but they should definitely do the job. Know what you mean about the receiver hitch-mine is staying whatever way I go bumper-wise. I'm thinking a hitch could be made to coexist with one of these-not positive though.

When they do make one for the Sport (note the optimism here :D ) I'll be first in line for one-want me to drop you a line?

Denver Offroad does make their bumpers for Sport Models. However all they do is cut out where the bumper meets the drop of the grille. So Part of the grille is about an inch or two under the bumper. A few other companies do this as well. (as a money saving feature I assume  )

The only Bumpers I know of that have the bumper actually drop down to meet the bottom of the grille in the sport model is the Road Armor Bumpers. Reunel may do it as well.

I can't speak for the DOR, but the reunel does allow you to reatain the front reciever. I have both on mine and neither required mods to work. Kevin, I forget, do your brackets attacch to the iside or outside of your frame horns? If they attach to the inside, then a front reciever will fit no problem.

As Mactruck already stated, Road Armor produces a very trick replacement front bumper that has the drop center area for the '99+ Sport Rams (or to accommodate those of us with pre '99 Sports using the '99+ Sport grille... heh, heh, heh)

Awesome product and quality constructed in Everett, WA.

I want an aluminum one-my truck is dangerously close to over-GVW now (8300 lbs. with me in it and a full tank of fuel)-so that cuts out the Road Armor, Reunel and ProZap... . plus I'm addicted to the shine :D .

Looked at an Ali-Arc today-I think they'll clear the hitch shank height-wise but there'll be some spreading going on to make the hitch fit (the mounting horns are on the outside of the framerail). Don't think it'll clear the Sport grille without some mods either.

But I saw a SWEET bumper at the same place-the one they had was for a Super Duty but man was it nice! Made by a company called Ute Manufacturing out of Seattle... . 3/8" aluminum all the way around and very nice. They're tooling up a Ram one now (if it's not already done)-the salesman from Raven is calling there Monday morning to see about a Sport model and also fitment with the receiver hitch. So I'll let ya know after he calls me!

Try http://www.ranchhand.com/main.html and click on front end replacements. Go to the bottom of the page, and they have what is called a bull nose. They look great on sports. I have the full grill and headlight guard replacement.

All they show on the website are furds, but a friend of mine has one on a 2500 gasser. PM me and I can send you digital pic. :D
