My truck has 40k on it and is in near flawless shape. Hood, headlights, chrome lower bumper look new. Problem is the upper painted portion of the bumper looks like it has been through a war. Seems bugs have eaten right through the paint and it looks like permanent bug splatter but in all pimer. There are also a handfull of spot where the paint and clearcoat is flaking off in random spots.

I know this can be normal, but ashame with the rest of the front of the truck looking so new. Is it possible to take the upper painted portion of the bumper off without removing the whole thing?

After looking at some photos online and a few parts pics, it seems that it may be able to come off without removing the enitre bumper. Can anyone confirm this?

I also found some Chrome replacements on ebay for around 100 dollars but I am not sure If I will like the look of all chrome. Anyone have that chrome peice or thoughts?

Ive taken the upper portion off mine to get re-painted as well, there are plastic clips on the bottem that hold it on but you will need to replace these, they break almost everytime

Thanks for the pointer about the clips. Were you able to remove it with the bumper still on the truck??
