I'm looking for a 'Reunel' grade front bumper that's made to stock dimensions. What's up with those barn door bumpers anyway? I just want something sturdy that doesn't take so much room I can't put my plow on.

Those plastic trim pieces on the bumper pack full of ice and snow and they get pushed out; and now busted off. Backed into a mega mailbox pole and rippled the back bumper while plowing in the last snow too...

Mark you seem to be having a bad winter(day).
I've seen a few large V dents in the front bumbers on Dodges but the back? #ad

How about heated front bumbers? Back window defroster strips on the inside of bumber (never tried it just an idea).

Yep, heck of a winter.

Fourth season plowing and this is my first winter with damage; and it's piling on.

Of-course, we've had more snow this winter then the others combined.

Nice thing about that is I'm making enough money to fix it but it certainly hurts the margin.

As for the mailbox, one of those under the tailgate situations. If you can't see it you can't miss it. Usually I'm aware of all such obstacles (I've plowed that spot a hundred times). 3:30 am, not enough coffee, thinking about the day job I still have to get to at 8 am, crunch.

I talked to the owner the next day to make sure I didn't owe him a new box; since the box was a little dinged (really). The pole didn't even move. 2" around, poured full of concrete, sitting in "a-lot" of concrete (owners words). I complemented him on his pole design. Apparently the kids were running the boxes over. Not any more! 8,000lb truck literally bounced off that thing. A Geo or some such death trap would wrap around it like a twist tie on a bread bag.

Looking at the bright side; a Reunel rear bumper with built in cut-outs for my backup lights. Been wanting one of those anyway, now I have a good excuse,... "Honey; I really need to fix my bumper!. . "

Have had the same problems as you describe. Ruined my rear bumper first time out plowing, just bumped a loading dock. You can make an add-on bumper to protect the rear of the truck, and it will also add ballast to help pull weight off the front axle. I used a piece of 4X4 tube, and welded a 2X2 tube through the centre to mount in the trailer hitch with a hitch pin. Filled it with concrete and welded on two end caps. I also added two 1 1\2 " square tubes to each end that stand upright and protect the tailights, and give you a visual indication of where the back of the truck is. Put 2 of the bright orange hockey balls on the top end to protect your hands and keep the crud out. I had to also weld two tabs onto the top of the 4X4 tube that extend under the factory bumper and line up with the holes. I then use two long 3\4" bolts to "stabilize" and level it. You can also add some rubber dock bumpers to the back as well for aded protection. It only takes about 2 mins and two people to pull it on and off,so you only use it when plowing. It is nice when you don't have to worry about naling something when you back up. E-amil me if you want a picture or drawings of it. This year I added a quick mount for may tail gate salter and some extra backup lamps as well.
