I'm looking to replace my front bumper with a "real bumper". I'm leaning towards the Buckstop, but are there others I should be considering?

I have an '04 quadcab 3500.

Thanks and look forward to recomendations.

There are a lot of bumpers out there now, most are copies of Ranch Hand, which is still a good choice. Mine are from Brown's Welding in Seguin, TX. Depending on where you are, there should be some local shop making up something. I have a Ranch Hand tool box and I just had it repowder coated a couple of months ago. Point being. check the paint job/coating. It boils down to personal preference. I like something with a full grill guard and that's what I have. (sorry no pics) But go to www.ranchhand.com and you'll see. The back is a wrap around for 3500 DRW. Hope this helps.

I have the real Ranch Hand on my truck. Euro front grill guard and 10' rear bumper with lights. I have replaced the clear backup lamps with red led stop, turn, and tail marker. (sorry no pics yet). I love them. I went with ranchhand because I think they look the best, not cheeply made, but I did pay a little more for them. My truck is 2wd and I thought the whole front end replacement just didn't look right, too low.

RMissyabit,

I've been very happy with my front end replacement from South West Fabricators in Junction, TX.

See my reader's rigs gallery for pics.

I decided on a Herd Bullbar because it was aluminum (124lbs. ) and I don't want a winch hanging on the front. Price was $1450 at TNT in Billings, MT.

Other G3 aluminum bumpers now availabe are Aliarc ($925 light duty) and Utes and possibly Denver of Road.

I have the Tough Country Front end replacement. It weighs under 200, but add the 12K winch and it's approaching 300.

This bumper has saved my frontend at least once.

i just got a 10" ranch hand cowboy drop bumper for my truck... . im having my step dad check the classifieds back home (san marcos, tx) for a used ranch hand front bumper replacement that we can re-sand and powdercoat. i'd love to see pics of the led turn signals on your back bumper once you post them.

Has anyone run a snowplow with any of these bumpers? I mean major plows like Western, Meyers, or Boss?

Thanks.

I have Ranch Hands on both trucks. I was offered a Western 8' Uni-mount pro plow at a screamin' price ($400 Oo. ) at about the same time I got my bumpers. I asked Ranch Hand if they were compatible and they said no. I got it anyway and the the only problem I can see is if you run into a bank, drift, or pile and cause the blade to rise up too high, (on its own) the pump bumps the hitch tube.

Ranch Hands' powder coating sort of SUCKS though. (missed areas, thin spots, etc)
